The Decision Analysis and Evaluation Department is seeking a student who will assist in the creation of financial analysis, presentations, and economic models in support of business initiatives. The successful candidate will enhance technical / professional expertise (finance, excel, script), demonstrate impactful communication, and safely drive results with a strong learning attitude.

What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Do
  • Sustain and improve Downstream Investment Governance Framework.
  • Support project assurance functions and QA the project / commitment investment packages.
  • Coordinate investment or decision review meetings for both site and downstream levels.
  • Track investment decision and collaborate with assets, project manager, project control, finance, and other corporate functions.
  • Interface with corporate Capital Allocation Framework and navigate appropriate approval path for capital / commitment request.
  • Update process, workflow, and training materials.
  • Maintain documentation control and SharePoint contents.
  • Support economic modeling activities and improve decision quality.
  • Conduct portfolio research and improve investment insights.

Who You Are
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., Work Visa).
  • Available to begin full-time work in September 2024. An early start could be considered.
  • Excellent analytical and modelling skills required.
  • Basic to mid-level understanding of financial concepts would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Basic to mid-level experience with PowerBI, SportFire, R Studio, and SharePoint would be considered an asset.
  • Attention to detail, superior organizational and analytical skills combined with the ability to multi-task required.
  • Above average presentation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge & experience gained by working within the Oil industry is an asset.

Education
  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor of Commerce Undergraduate Program specializing in Accounting, Economics or Finance at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term.
  • New Graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
