Student Analyst, Economic Research (summer 2023, 4 Months)

Job Description

The Economic Research team within OMERS Total Portfolio Management is seeking a Student Analyst to join the group in Toronto starting in May 2023. You will have the opportunity to join a driven and collaborative team and support numerous aspects of the investment process, including investment research and the development of analytics.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain databases, PowerPoint presentations, and analytical tools
Monitor, analyze and produce research on economic and financial developments
Assist in the preparation of internal and external reports, including collecting, organizing and analyzing information from a variety of sources
Provide research assistance as needed to Economic Research team
Responsible for two regular outputs: the weekly COVID-19 Monitor and the bi-weekly Market Movers package
Ad hoc research projects
You Should Apply If:
Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Economics or Business
Knowledge of economics and understanding of the financial sector
Experience using Bloomberg and Microsoft Office
Experience working in a research assistant role
Strong attention to detail
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Self-starter with ability to work constructively within a team and perform effectively in periodic, high-pressure situations.
