What is the Student Ambassador Program?
This program connects admitted and prospective candidates with current law students. Ambassadors are uniquely placed to tell applicants about the advantages of studying law at McGill. In fact, many of our current ambassadors were themselves welcomed to the McGill Law community through this program. Student Ambassadors are also invited to attend alumni events and to participate in Homecoming or other semi-formal or formal functions.

Sous la supervision directe de la Doyenne adjointe (admissions et recrutement), l'ambassadeur etudiant.e accomplira des taches liees au recrutement de candidat.e.s et d'etudiant.e.s admis.es au programme BCL/JD. En tant que representant.e.s de la Faculte de droit, les ambassadeurs etudiant.e.s partagent leurs perspectives uniques en tant qu'etudiant.e.s en droit actuel.le.s en ce qui concerne le processus de demande et d'admission, la transition vers le role d'etudiant.e en droit, ainsi que leurs connaissance de ce que le programme unique de McGill a a offrir.
Description of DutiesGreets students and answers general inquiries about the Faculty of Law (minors, majors, and joint degree programs, student life, living in Montreal, etc.) with a positive attitude.
Hosts virtual and, when safety guidelines permit, in-person Faculty tours and class visits.
In collaboration with the Faculty of Law's Admissions Office, shares their student experience and answers questions from prospective and admitted students, their families, guidance counselors, and alumni during webinars, virtual events and, when safety guidelines permit, in-person events.
In collaboration with the Faculty of Law's Communications team, participates in social media campaigns and events (e.g. Instagram, Facebook and YouTube).
In collaboration with the Faculty of Law's Career Development Office, helps host on-campus events for prospective employers.
Supports other recruitment and yield activities and events, as needed, such as answering the phone, responding to e-mails and assisting in various administrative tasks; helping with the setting up and taking down of signs, equipment, etc. during on-campus events.

Duration of Employment: September 2025 - August 2026
Weekly Hours: Weekly hours vary depending on event schedule and tasks assigned. When assigned, work will be 2 - 5 hours per week. Flexibility required.
Qualifying Skills:Passive bilingualism
General knowledge of the Faculty and student life
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills - must be willing to engage and initiate conversations with students and their families
Involvement in the McGill community (clubs, services, athletics or other university activities) an asset
Customer service and social media experience an asset
All chosen Student Ambassadors will be required to complete a training given by the Admissions Office.
Candidates should be bilingual, have facilitation and presentation experience and the ability to interact with various constituencies and groups. Prior experience with the Student Ambassador program or another program of its kind is a strong asset.
