We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Student-at-Law (Articling Student) to join our legal team.
Responsibilities
Prepare immigration forms and submissions for the IRCC and the CBSA, as applicable.
Prepare disclosures and submissions for the IRB matters.
Prepare Application Records for the Federal Court matters.
Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and agreements.
Conduct legal research and analysis to support case/litigation preparation.
Assist in the preparation of trial materials and exhibits.
File and organize legal documents using document management systems.
Perform data entry and maintain accurate records.
Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness.
Provide administrative support to lawyers, including scheduling appointments and managing calendars.
Answer phone calls and handle inquiries with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from an accredited law school.
Admitted to the practice of law with the Law Society of Alberta.
Thorough knowledge of the IRPA, IRPR, IRB and Federal Court Rules and Practice Guidelines.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
Ability to conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues
Familiarity with clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and transcribing
Salary
Starting from $2,400 to $3,500 per month.
