Job Description

Pacific Life Bible College is looking for a responsible, detail-oriented Student Accounts & Financial Aid Officer to oversee our day-to-day student account procedures and the Financial Aid process. Our ideal candidate has accounting or bookkeeping experience at a nonprofit organization.In summary, your job will be to maintain records, process transactions, and provide reports as required.Key Duties Manage all aspects of the Populi system billing charges tables, student charges and payments. Ensure accuracy and timely recording of all transactions, both in Populi and the Pacific Life financial software. Assist students through all aspects of the student loan process Manage all documentation while acting as the authorized individual of Pacific Life to government student loan officials and other external authorities and agencies. Process student financial aid applications and process payments from student financial assistance programs. Monitor all student account balances and provide updates to students When necessary, implement current collection policies and manage payments from all sources, ensuring timely notification and collection when a student is in arrears. Maintain adequate records and ensure compliance with sponsor and government requirements. Assist the Awards Committee as needed to determine student eligibility and award granting.Education Requirements Diploma or degree in business administration, finance, or accounting. Applicants with the right blend of education and experience will also be considered.Skill Requirements Excellent verbal and written communication, time management, problem-solving, and math skills Strong level of critical and logical thinking, and/or reasoning, to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts Good knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles for Canadian nonprofits Computer literate, including effective working skills in the MS Office suite, Sage Accounting, and other data management programs Ability to work efficiently as part of a team, as well as independently Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures Attention to detail in all areas of work High level of personal integrity and strong work ethicCompensationThe salary will be commensurate with experience.Successful candidates must be in agreement with Pacific Life's Mission, philosophy, Faith Statement, and community standards.Pacific Life Bible College is a school of biblical higher education that began in 1928.
