This opening is for our shop located in Didsbury, must have FCAW/MCAW and experience in structural welding shops. Locals only, NO LOA or Travel will be provided.

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Structural Welder to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in welding and fabrication within a construction or manufacturing environment. This role requires proficiency in various welding techniques and the ability to read blueprints and schematics to ensure high-quality structural integrity in all projects.

Duties

Perform MIG, TIG, FCAW, and Stick welding on various materials including sheet metal and ductwork. Interpret blueprints and schematics to fabricate components according to specifications. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as press brake machines and plasma cutters for assembly and fabrication tasks. Conduct rigging operations safely and efficiently, ensuring proper handling of materials. Measure components using calipers, micrometers, and basic math skills to ensure precision in fabrication. Collaborate with team members on construction sites to complete projects within deadlines while adhering to ASME codes & standards. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and guidelines. Operate forklifts as needed for material handling and transportation.

Skills

Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of welding techniques. Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, Stick welding, and soldering. Familiarity with mechanical knowledge, pipe threading, machining, and assembly processes. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. Experience with fabrication processes including ductwork installation. Strong skills in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Knowledge of rigging practices for safe material handling. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
