Canada Life is looking for an Analyst to join our Distribution strategy to provide business analysis, financial analysis, research, and project management support. The Strategy team supports key strategic initiatives for the Group Customer division at Canada Life.


As a successful candidate, you will join one of Canada\xe2\x80\x99s leading Financial Services institutions and a team that will provide you with challenging work and opportunities for long-term career advancement. You will contribute to development, implementation and execution of key business strategies and transactions intended to achieve sustained growth for the company. You have excellent presentation skills and will bring to the team a strong background in strategy and analytics. Furthermore, you have the ability to establish effective relationships with people at varying levels. You will report to the Director, Strategy.

Key Deliverables and Results

Provide analytic support for various strategic initiatives and projects within the Group Customer division at Canada Life, including the following:

• Conduct financial analysis, including developing financial models to understand the profitability, lines of business, or market/industry
• Gather market and competitor information from industry associations, publications, research reports
• Interview internal staff to get information and perspective on a line of business, competitive threats, market trends and other relevant strategic issues
• Develop company profiles based on financial reports, analyst reports, company websites, industry groups, research reports, literature searches etc.
• Manage their workstreams on projects with minimal guidance
• Do their part to ensure a high level of quality (zero-defect) in all presentations and analyses while working in a fast-paced environment

Ad hoc and special projects as required
Qualifications and Competencies

• 1 to 2 years of experience in a corporate environment (preferably in a large company) or as a professional or consultant in corporate finance and/or accounting
• An undergraduate degree (preferably in business, finance or accounting)
• Completion of, or progress towards professional designations/degrees (e.g. CFA, CA, CBV, MBA) considered an asset
