The Network Strategy Analyst's primary focus will be on projects that support and advance the long-term network strategy. He/She will be responsible for various aspects related to facility location analysis, transportation network design, network optimization and simulation, network performance, and network financials. The individual must possess the ability to understand systems and tools required for developing mathematical and data models and for creating or supporting the creation of sophisticated decision-support systems. He/She will be an agent of change, leading the recommendation and implementation of network improvements, for both cost mitigation and cycle time efficiency. This individual must have strong communication and project management skills as he/she will be required to act as a cross functional consultant with multiple departments within Pitney Bowes.
  • Working with the broader ecommerce strategy team to understand the business strategy and how it translates into concrete projects.
  • Interfacing with Engineering, Operations, Postal, and Transportation teams to understand the scope and context requirements of each individual project.
  • Working across Presort, FDR, and Crossborder to identify and implement recommendations on network synergies between the business units.
  • Interfacing with Finance to analyze the financial variables surrounding the ecommerce network.
  • Working with Product and Technology to understand requirements and dependencies in support of ongoing and future projects.
20% travel is required.

Responsibilities
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Assemble data from various sources into formats appropriate for the specific operations and financial analysis and conduct relevant analysis to solve problem related to network design and optimization.
  • Optimization and Simulation Modeling: Create optimization and simulation models to improve package flow and associated cycle time and cost metrics. This will include facility location models, transportation flow models, routing models, and financial models, among others.
  • Business Process Modeling: Develop as-is and to-be network models that can identify opportunities for efficiency gains.
  • Performance Measurement: Utilize statistical modeling techniques and advanced business analytics to define and monitor measures that will align performance with business objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Manage continuous improvement processes to improve key performance indicators, especially around cycle time. Identify areas of improvement and drive change through other departments to achieve cycle time goals.
  • Support the Financial Forecast: Assist the Engineering team with the preparation of the Cost of Service forecast for annual operating budget and strategic plans, as well as sensitive analyses to quantify opportunities and risks (what-if scenarios).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Transportation/Logistics/Industrial Engineering/Operations Research or related field.
  • 3-4 years of experience in Transportation/Logistics/Industrial Engineering/Operations Research or related field
  • Proven experience as a data analyst or business data analyst with particular preference in the general area of Logistics/Supply Chain
  • Experience with Network Optimization and Simulation tools (such as Gurobi, Excel Solver, ARENA, AnyLogic)
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques and programming (such as R, Python)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze significant amounts of information with the associated experience with database (such as SQL) and business analytics tools (such as Tableau or PowerBI)
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills including statistical concepts
  • Self-directed, with strong attention to detail and focus on solution design
  • Ability to deal with changing conditions and respond to customer requirements with a strong sense of urgency
  • Excellent written / oral communication skills to present findings, make recommendations, and drive change through others.
