The Facilities team is comprised of over 300 trades personnel and service workers that provide trusted services and stewardship in support of teaching, learning, and discovery. This team is responsible for operations, maintenance, service, utilities distribution, and customer support. The Facilities Team Charter describes the purpose, vision, and values that in turn support the campus community.
Primary Purpose: This position is responsible for providing exceptional logistical, operational, and administrative support for Facilities operations. The Storekeeper manages how Facilities resources are acquired, stored, and transported to their final destination. This role is accountable for supporting, enabling, and improving the delivery of Facilities services to the campus community. This position is also responsible for the logistical and administrative tasks associated with daily campus mailroom duties. The Storekeeper works closely with a wide complement of individuals in Facilities and related units, as well as external suppliers to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of products to the Parts Department's main and satellite warehouses. The Storekeeper is expected to be proactive, flexible, and accommodating in providing support for Facilities colleagues and the campus community.
Nature of Work: Reporting to an Assistant Manager in Facilities, this position will work in an environment of continuous change, fast pace, shifting priorities, and frequent interruptions, as well as providing proactive customer-facing services to the community at the University of Saskatchewan. This position works independently and with minimal supervision and will frequently be working in high volume situations with pressure to meet tight deadlines. This role will interact collaboratively with groups and individuals across all of Facilities, as well as related units such as Procurement and Safety Resources. This position requires proven effective communication, effective ability to multitask, attention to detail, and time management skills both within a busy warehouse environment, as well as at various locations across campus. This position is also front facing, and is such there is an expectation to represent Facilities with the utmost professionalism, courtesy, consistency, honesty, and respect. This position is expected to be self-motivated and able to take initiative to develop and improve relationships, processes, and resolve issues when they arise. The work involves physical labour, and can involve extended periods of sitting, standing, and driving various types of passenger vehicles and warehouse equipment. Shifts are worked in conjunction with operating hours, which are subject to change.
