Who We Are
Habitat for Humanity GTA is greater Toronto's most recognized provider and advocate of solutions that tackle our region's housing crisis. Our mission is to create a world where everyone has a safe, quality place to live. We focus on creative solutions to address the affordable housing crisis in Toronto, Brampton, Caledon, York Region and Durham Region. With the help of volunteers, donors and community partners, we unlock change for generations by bringing the benefits of home ownership to more people and communities. Since 1988, Habitat GTA has built 23 new communities, empowering more than 500 families.
Habitat ReStore is a chain of non-profit home improvement retail stores with 10 locations across the Greater Toronto Area, owned and operated by Habitat for Humanity GTA. We sell home furnishings, appliances, and other renovation materials at a fraction of the price. Our items are donated from businesses and individuals and undergo inspection and testing to ensure they meet our high-quality standards. Habitat GTA is growing. We are an innovative, entrepreneurial social enterprise that has been increasing our capacity for impact each and every year. Together, we are building a better, more inclusive GTA for everyone.

The Opportunity
Represent Habitat for Humanity GTA as a Brand Ambassador by modeling our values and guiding principles
Deliver exceptional customer service in-store and by telephone
Accept donations of gently used items
Receive and unload shipments of products from our delivery trucks
Merchandise and organize products on the store floor
Perform all standard cash register transactions proficiently and accurately according to operational procedures including cash, debit card, and credit card transactions
Support with updating our e-commerce platform
What You Bring
Represent Habitat for Humanity GTA as a Brand Ambassador by modeling our values and guiding principles.
Learn, understand, and participate in the Health and Safety Program
Availability on weekends
Supervise, train and lead ReStore staff and volunteers.
Oversee all retail operations including store merchandising (including our eCommerce website), selling, space management, stock control, etc.
Administrative and clerical duties (daily health and safety inspections, inventory and donation processing, staff scheduling, etc.)
Problem solve and troubleshoot day to day issues and concerns.
Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to and promoting store policies and health and safety protocols and best practices.
Exceed sale and customer satisfaction targets to support our cause.
Deliver exceptional customer service to our customers, donors, and volunteers.
Deescalate and resolve customer complaints.
Support with the loading and unloading of donated products from our trucks.
Advocate for Habitat for Humanity GTA and model our values and guiding principles.
Represent Habitat for Humanity GTA as a Brand Ambassador by modeling our values and guiding principles.
