ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a competent and dedicated
Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Instructor
to join our team at Anderson College's
North York location
. The ideal candidate will have previous experience teaching adults ideally in both classroom and clinical environments and be passionate about helping mature students achieve their goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The instructor will guide, coach and support students to be successful in their healthcare career.
Create an effective adult learning environment in class and in lab
Develop, supervise, and evaluate practical skills
Maintain scan lab protocols and equipment
Teach program curriculum as outlined by the college and in adherence with the Sonography Canada competencies
Ability to follow a pre-existing lesson plan
Ability to create their own lesson plan as the needs of the program/individual classes evolve
Schedule of Classes: Monday to Friday - 1:30 PM - 6:30 PM
(shifts may vary depending on program needs)
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of college students, faculty and staff.
Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
Current registration as a Canadian Registered Generalist Sonographer (CRGS) with Sonography Canada
Registered with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
Vascular, MSK and Cardiac ultrasound experience is considered an asset
Bachelor's degree in Health Science or related field of study, graduate degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years of recent work experience in diagnostic ultrasound in a health care environment
Teaching experience, ideally in both classroom and clinical environments, (including preceptorship experience) is considered an asset
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of educational technologies; experience in the development and delivery of hybrid and online curriculum is considered an asset
Highly effective communication, presentation, and organizational skills
Evidence of commitment to the success of all learners
