What You\'ll DoCanadian Tire Real Estate Limited (CTREL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Canadian Tire Corporation, Limited (CTC), owns or manages over 52 million square feet of property across 1,700 locations in Canada. We are a group of over 150 professionals based in Toronto with regional offices in Calgary and Montr\xc3\xa9al. We develop, build and manage all of CTC\xe2\x80\x99s real estate assets across its various retail businesses, including Canadian Tire Stores, Party City, Sport Chek, Pro Hockey Life, Atmosphere, Mark\xe2\x80\x99s, Sports Experts, Gas+ outlets and PartSource. CTREL also provides development, construction, and property management services to CT REIT.The Store Facilities Maintenance Manager will work as an integral part of the Asset Management team that is responsible for the maintenance of corporate assets across Canada. The team is also responsible for managing a high volume of diverse building and site capital maintenance repair and replacement projects across Canada for Canadian Tire\xe2\x80\x99s extensive real estate portfolio.As a key member of the Store Facilities Maintenance & Asset Management team, the Store Facilities Maintenance Manager will:Ensure that Canadian Tire Corporation\xe2\x80\x99s real estate portfolio is maintained in accordance with the Dealer Contract and all laws and regulations. This maintenance includes responsibility for all corporate components and involves capital asset repairs and replacements at end-of-life which will result in an improved customer experience in the store while maintaining the premises to first class standardsManage all corporate real estate assets for the Western Region (with occasional travel to Western Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon, NWT),Respond to store enquiries related to building and site maintenance issuesAdminister the Dealer contract to ensure that Dealers maintain their stores and when necessary, perform work on account for the Dealers and charge-back the costsReview, interpret, and explain maintenance manual policies to Dealers, Franchisees, and ManagersManage minor environmental projectsManage corporate maintenance programs where offeredIdentify and manage capital replacement projects on a store-by-store basis, a project valued at
$400 million over the next 15 yearsCreate and maintain a database of contractors for each geographical territoryParticipate in the Dealer changeover process to ensure that issues identified are assigned to the appropriate accountability and to ensure that work is carried out in a timely mannerProvide regular feedback to the Proto Standards Department on actual building performance related mattersRead and understand corporate obligations contained in leases, cross-access agreements, and license agreements and ensure compliance with all contractsRead and understand development agreements, site plan agreements, and building permits and ensure compliance with all permits and agreementsManage direct report: Develop, mentor, guide and coach Contract Administrator by setting clear performance objectives and provide ongoing and timely feedbackWhat You BringMinimum of 8 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the relevant industries: design, construction, or property management industryBackground in building science and/or building managementA university degree, or experience that is equivalentAbility to work within tight timelines and meet deadlinesAbility to manage strict budgets and maximize financial performanceKnowledge of municipal processes, by-laws, and building codesAbility to effectively communicate in person and virtually with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, vendors, and team membersExcellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and negotiation skillsProficiency in Word, Excel, Access & Power PointGood organizational skillsAvailability to occasionally travel throughout Western CanadaHybridWe value flexibility.
