Job Summary
Lead natural resource initiatives in this important role Context: The Permitting Transformation Division is focused on developing agile approaches to ongoing permitting and Statutory Decision Making challenges across areas of process, legislation, policy and systems. The Permitting Solutions Branch within the Permitting Transformation Division drives new approaches to integrating the Natural Resource Sector through changes to provincial legislation, policy, tools, and systems to support and transform decision making, processes, and authorizations across the province. The Role: Working at a provincial level, the position is responsible for designing and carrying out applied strategies and leading projects for the integration and transformation of authorization legislation, policies and processes across the Natural Resource Sector. The Provincial Authorization Specialist provides senior advisory services, including providing direction to others, with respect to governance and administration of natural resource authorizations and supports critical priority government projects, including Housing, Connectivity and Electrification. Job Requirements:
  • A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in a natural resource management related field (e.g., Forestry, Geography, or Natural Resource Management) or an equivalent combination of education/training, plus 3 or more years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working in a natural resource discipline.
  • Experience in negotiating/mediating solutions in natural resource management.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, or leading a component of a project, using project management standards, principles and tools
  • Experience establishing, building and maintaining collaborative working relationships to facilitate solutions in process improvements in natural resource management.


Preference may be given to applicants with 1 or more of the following:
  • 3 or more years of experience in leading or managing multiple projects.
  • 3 or more years of experience in working in collaborative environments with Indigenous nations and various interested parties to advance natural resource developments in British Columbia.
  • 3 or more years of experience in the electrification field which could include project management, regulation or permitting of clean energy developments.
