This is a three-year, full-service joint venture located in the city of Greater Sudbury, Ontario. Last mined in 2017, the Stobie property is ramping back up in response to the world\xe2\x80\x99s increasing demand for critical minerals, and social and economic benefits for the local communities.The Opportunity:We are currently seeking Warehouse Technicians to join the Operations Team at Stobie Open Pit in Sudbury, Ontario. These are permanent positions at Vale Base Metals.The Warehouse Technician must serve all areas of the site and gain confidence from maintenance and operations that material required will be available and delivered as required. A safety-first attitude while operating a range of warehouse equipment and maintaining an organized, clean, and professional work site is required.Additionally, in this position, you will:

  • Perform all actions required to ensure materials required by the business are on hand and available for use, including tracking materials and troubleshooting problems that arise;
  • Work in a demanding environment to meet deadline and productivity standards;
  • Ensure a safety-first standard exists on a day-to-day basis by doing regular safety inspections on equipment and area. The incumbent must know all safety policies and strictly adhere to them;
  • Records goods receipts in SAP for all materials delivered to site;
  • Organize and store documents pertaining to all purchase order receipts and reservations;
  • Fulfil all business unit orders from the warehouse with a focus on the accuracy and timeliness;
  • Respond to all internal and external client inquiries regarding materials;
  • Research and apply the handling and storage requirements for all materials entering the warehouse;
  • Execute proper techniques for inventory management;
  • Perform asset deliveries throughout the site;
  • Prepare and arrange outgoing shipments;
  • Maintain warehouse facilities across site to ensure a clean and safe working environment;
  • Operate electric and propane forklifts;
  • Operate a telehandler and vehicle.
About YouEducation:
  • A minimum of a grade 10 education
  • Class 5 Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License
Experience:
  • 2+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience driving a forklift (with certificate).
  • 2+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience using SAP preferred.
  • Knowledge of maintenance materials preferred.
  • Lean, 5S experience.
  • Previous mining or heavy industrial experience would be an asset.
Skills:
  • Must have a good understanding of Safety and Environmental policy and procedures and ensure work is conducted accordingly.
  • Knowledge of maintenance materials spheres (piping fittings, pumps, actuators, etc.) preferred.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods experience or certification is an asset.
  • WHMIS.
  • The ability to manage heavy physical work. This is defined as maximal lifting and/or carrying of up to 50lbs.
