Job Summary
A great opportunity to take the next step in your career The Natural Resource Specialist provides guidance to statutory decision makers, clients and to professional staff within the ministry, across government and mining sector on provincial natural resource acts, regulations, policies, procedures, and processes. The position has a provincial scope of responsibility in advising, engaging and consulting with a broad range of stakeholders and Indigenous Peoples on mining and other resource related decisions and providing guidance for mineral and coal titles administration.
The position is accountable for a number of delegated statutory authorities of the Chief Gold Commissioner under the Mineral Tenure Act, Mineral Tenure Act Regulation, Coal Act, and Coal Act Regulation.

Job Requirements:
  • Degree or Diploma in the natural resource field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience providing information and services to the public.
  • Experience in both written and oral communication with a variety of clients/customers in complex situations.

Preference may be given to applicants who have:
  • Experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations and/or policies.
  • Experience is in the natural resource sector.
