Key Duties & Responsibilities

Monitor security systems and respond to alarms, call-outs, and incidents in a timely and professional manner Coordinate with local law enforcement, emergency responders, and client representatives as required Maintain detailed and accurate incident records, mobile logs, and digital reports Monitor, respond to, and manage all radio communications using proper phonetic alphabet, 10-codes, and radio protocol Conduct routine and random site checks, hazard assessments, safety inspections, and system audits Ensure a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and the public Provide immediate and effective response to client issues while upholding Guardium's service standards Demonstrate strong knowledge of Guardium safety policies, procedures, and operational guidelines Navigate and patrol throughout Edmonton and surrounding areas with strong knowledge of local roads and neighborhoods Assess changing road conditions, weather hazards, and emergency notifications using approved tools and applications Defuse, de-escalate, and manage potentially volatile situations with professionalism and confidence

Required Qualifications

Eligible to work in Canada Minimum

High School Diploma

or equivalent MUST speak, read, and write English proficiently (minimum Level IV competency) MUST hold a current and valid

Alberta Security Guard Licence

Flexible availability, primarily evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends Valid

Class 5 Alberta Driver's Licence

Clear and current Driver's Abstract Able to be commercially insured and bonded in Alberta Current

Standard First Aid - Level C with CPR/AED

(or ability to obtain within 3 months) Minimum

2-3 years

experience in Security or Law Enforcement Military experience considered an asset Experience in customer service or public-facing roles is beneficial Certification in

NVCI

(Non-Verbal Crisis Intervention) or equivalent de-escalation training Certification or experience in

PPCT / CTSS Physical Control Tactics

Training or education in Police Studies / Security Protection recognized Excellent report-writing skills (digital and hard copy) Strong computer skills and proficiency with digital reporting systems Working knowledge of OH&S legislation and safety programs Recent experience handling emergency or high-pressure environments Strong multitasking, independent decision making, and critical thinking skills Outstanding communication, customer service, and interpersonal abilities Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Schedule Options

10-hour shifts 12-hour shifts Evenings Nights Monday-Friday Weekends as required

Education & Licences

Education:

Secondary School (preferred)

Required Certifications:

Alberta Security Guard Licence Valid Driver's Licence

Preferred Certifications:

CTSS / PPCT NVCI First Aid Level C (if not already obtained)
