  • Provide tactical and strategic solutions to system and infrastructure scalability, reliability and observability gaps.
  • Collaborate with our infrastructure team to drive high-quality designs to improve our infrastructure provisioning and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Work on improving our performance testing tooling, and collaborate closely with our application development, search and SRE teams to tune the performance of critical services.
  • Partner with other engineering teams and identify opportunities to improve our development tooling and frameworks.
  • Partner closely with other Staff Engineers, Engineering Managers and Directors to devise and refine non-functional requirements to create the most reliable, secure, performant services for our customers using cutting-edge technologies.
  • Lead software and system design initiatives by leveraging cloud-native design patterns and injecting your cloud expertise into the entire development lifecycle.
  • Be an inspiring mentor and coach to other engineers
  • Act as an advocate for the company and its engineering team through various channels
You have:
  • A minimum of 8 years of professional development experience, with two years at a Staff level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on translating business concerns into technical implementations
  • Ability to guide the engineering team towards making a decision while minimizing friction and using influence as effectively as direct control.
  • Strong background in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Software Engineering or Systems Engineering
  • A track record of planning and executing large, complex, organization-wide migrations
  • A deep understanding of shell scripting and higher-level languages such as Python and Typescript.
  • Extensive experience working with any of the major public cloud providers like GCP, AWS or Azure
  • Experience developing with CI/CD orchestration and infrastructure-as-code solutions.
  • Experience monitoring services and infrastructure, log collection, analytics, error reporting and application performance monitoring.
Nice to haves, but not required qualifications:
