Powell Foundations Inc. (PFI) strives to provide clients with all their foundation needs. We specialize in constructing temporary excavation protection, pile driving, deep caisson shafts, sheet pile cofferdams, noise barriers, and overhead sign footings. We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team! The role will report to the Controller and manage the day-to-day operations of vendor invoices, vendor management, monitor aging vendor balances, and payment management. This role is based in Stouffville, Ont. Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for Accounts Payable processing and validating correct approvals are received.
• Ensure all documents are prepared and validated for the Accounts Payable cheque runs.
• Responsible for Corporate Credit Card process and validation of approvals.
• Ensure all Employee Expenses are submitted accurately and timely for processing.
• Monitor aging vendor balance and recommendations for payments.
• Perform assigned month-end reconciliations functions.
• Generate reports and statements as per management requests.
• Review of general ledger accounts to ensure accurate postings.
• Review journal entries to ensure all monthly accruals are recorded.
• Review for month end balance sheet reconciliations.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as may be required.

Additionally, key success criteria, means you will have:

• Excellent attention to detail, records management and problem solving skills
• College Diploma in Accounting or Business Administration
• 1-3 years of experience in an AP/Accounting
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
• Previous experience in the construction industry is an asset.
