Job Description

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join a public accounting firm in the Ottawa-East region. This is a full-time/permanent role on site.

Responsibilities:

-Full cycle accounting

-Prepare timely and accurate journal entries as required

-Coordinate with accounting clerks to prepare monthly and quarterly analysis

-Review general ledger accounts activities to ensure account accuracy of financial statements

-Taking an active role in the planning of engagements

-Dealing with financial statements and engagement issues with appropriate managers

-Manage engagements from start to completion

-Tax planning on corporate engagements

-Prepare corporate tax returns

-Gain insight into the scope of services provided by the company

-Answering requests for information from the CRA

Qualifications:

-Education in Accounting or in a similar field

-3+ years in Public Accounting

-Experience in Caseware

-Excellent written and oral communication skills

-Strong project management skills

-Accountable and dependable

-Great attention to detail
