Job Description

This is a 1 year contract for a Financial Services company in Toronto. The Senior Tax Analyst will support tax compliance, tax accounting and reporting, and new transaction/strategic tax planning activities for the Company and its subsidiaries. This position will assist in the Company\'s tax matters whether it be income tax, capital tax, indirect tax (GST/HST) etc. Some responsibilities include:
- Assist in the preparation of Canadian federal and provincial income tax returns, partnership information returns, trust income tax and information returns, GST/HST and QST returns and withholding tax returns.
- Assist in the preparation of tax return working papers in support of the tax filing positions
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end income tax provisions
- Prepare monthly / quarterly income tax continuity schedules
- Assist in regulatory reporting process- University degree (preferably in Tax, Business Administration, Finance or Accounting)
- Professional designation (CPA or equivalent)
- At least 5 years experience in a corporate Tax role
- Strong technical tax background - completion of Level 1 and 2 of CPA institute In depth Tax program an asset
- Solid technical tax background, including sound knowledge of the Canadian tax system
- Experience in working with tax reporting related processes and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
