As a Junior Indirect Tax Analyst, you will be part of a team responsible for Indirect Tax compliance. Using your keen willingness to learn and significant prioritization skills, you will work with other members of the Indirect Tax Team to ensure Irving Oil is compliant with its Indirect Tax obligations in each of the jurisdictions it operates in. Your goal will be to file timely, accurate returns as well as interact with jurisdictional tax authorities to resolve queries on indirect tax compliance issues. Etc.)Support Tax Payment Remittances as required.Supporting the issuance and collection of exemption certificates from customers and to vendorsMonth End Reporting to prepare for the tax return cycle, running trial balances, etc.Other support duties as required such as sorting and distributing mail for tax department for example.Research and provide responses to queries from other parts of the company and legislative jurisdictions.Assist with indirect tax assessment rebuttal initiatives and related analysis and investigation.Support other indirect tax compliance projects and work with the business on other projects or new requests or developments.Preparation of basic indirect tax returns as required.Other duties as assigned by the manager.Your Skills:Strong prioritization skills.Good oral and written communication skills.Customer mindset.Works well within a team; willing to assist in areas outside own portfolio.Excellent time management skills and able to meet multiple deadlines.Good analytical skills.Your Experience:Post-secondary training in business or accounting.1-3 years of experience in tax or finance/accounting.
