Job Summary

The position\'s primary responsibility will be to protect McKesson Canada\xe2\x80\x99s people, products, property, and reputation by providing a safe and secure work environment. Furthermore, this position will provide support to the Senior Director, Global Security and Safety to ensure that all security actions, programs, and initiatives undertaken are consistent with the Global Security\xe2\x80\x99s mission and timeline. The Sr. Specialist, Global Security and Safety will be responsible for leading all security activities in its region and support all business units within the region in regards to security standards, procedures, and obligations.

Section A - Responsibilities

Ensuring all business units respect McKesson Global Security Standards by assessing risks and compliance.

Acting as the primary contact for security related questions, and supporting all Business Units for their security needs and issues.

Working with security vendors to support all business units.

Working closely with local law enforcement authorities.

Supporting all business units for any type of investigations, when needed.

Conducting security assessments, installation and maintenance of security technology, crisis and emergency management drills.

Conduct, manage and supervise security investigations involving, but not limited to theft, threats, fraud or assault.

Assist in developing information and training presentations on security to employees and managers across McKesson Canada.

Communicate security policies, objectives and best practices.

Identify clients security expectations and work with clients to execute and meet those expectations.

Be proactive by continuously assessing and identifying key security issues affecting McKesson Canada, communicate these issues and provide informative opinions and resolution to management.

Prepare reports that clearly and concisely set forth significant achievements or events.

Complete all tasks as assigned by the Senior Director, Global Security and Safety.

Work in close relation with the other regional Leads and exchange best practices.

Section B - Position Requirements

Collegial or equivalent required; professional certifications preferred (ASIS or others)

A working knowledge of transportation/logistics industry and cargo theft possibilities.

Knowledge of physical security systems and standards to include: access control, camera systems, perimeter/interior protection, burglar alarm and fire systems.

Ideally, knowledge of Honeywell based Security Systems (ProWatch, MaxPro).

Knowledge of case management systems, report generation, and assorted database manipulation techniques or quantitative reporting.

Knowledge in some interrogation techniques, and applied experience with interviewing employees involved with varying investigations.

Experience in conducting investigations into theft, proprietary information loss, financial fraud, general liability/worker\xe2\x80\x99s comp, and HR issues.

Must be able to respond to crisis situations if needed, maintain calm demeanor and make immediate decisions when called upon.

Leadership skills are necessary to command the action and confidence of others during fast breaking crisis situations.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely; ability to prepare and deliver high level presentations and briefings, for both internal and external audiences.

Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to gather and critically evaluate information and prepare written documents that clearly and concisely identify the issues presented and their proposed resolutions.

Must be well-spoken, calm and have ability to inspire confidence; must be a self-starter, capable of working either independently or as part of a team.

Must be able to work on and prioritize multiple tasks; must be able to work well under pressure, both internal and external and exercise sound judgment.

Computer skills, including familiarity with internet, e-mail, word processing and database programs.

Approximate travelling time required: 30%

Visit and audit all business units minimally during the fiscal year, based on risks, needs, and budgets.

Establish a global security budget for its region.

Establish and monitor specific security metrics for performance.

Supporting the SSO in its region, by coaching and training them.

Supporting audit needs, internal or external, for the BU to succeed

Monitoring all security equipment in its region, for effective maintenance and conditions.

Maintaining an updated security equipment listing, to maintain an effective, good working condition fleet.

Manage and provide oversight for day-to-day security activities that affect all of McKesson Canada.

Protects income and assets of the company against loss and waste.

Ensures that company policies are respected.

Maintains appropriate communication with all levels of the organization.

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$88,400 - $147,400
