Our client a growing Real Estate Development Company based in North Toronto has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Project Accountant to join their Finance Team. The Sr. Project Accountant is responsible for coordinating the accurate and timely entry and reporting on data in the company financial systems.Specific Responsibilities\xc2\xb7 Effectively communicate with contract manager and or construction manager regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications.\xc2\xb7 Handle supplier inquiries in a timely manner\xc2\xb7 Verify and process employee expense reports\xc2\xb7 Set up projects (jobs), budgets, job costs, cost codes, contracts, change orders, purchase orders, and run various construction reports\xc2\xb7 Prepare/gather materials related to construction for internal and external auditors\xc2\xb7 Perform budget allocations for multiple projects, ensuring allocations conform with contract terms.\xc2\xb7 Assist in preparing monthly financial projections, including but not limited to, potential cost issues that may impact forecasted costs\xc2\xb7 Prepare draws to banks, financial institutions, partners, and owners; ensuring all allowable costs are billed in a timely manner\xc2\xb7 Manage the accounts payable and receivables functions, paying bills and tax filing\xc2\xb7 Responsible for all accounting matters - draws, deposits, equity, mortgage payments, etc.\xc2\xb7 Deal with closing processes, managing all deposits from purchasers and from tenants\xc2\xb7 Manage equity draws for project ownership entities, partnerships, and joint ventures consistent with their respective legal structuring\xc2\xb7 Review statement of adjustments on acquisitions and sales\xc2\xb7 Act as \xe2\x80\x9cInternal Auditor\xe2\x80\x9d assuring internal controls are being followed as well as Assist with interim and year end audit and reporting requirements.\xc2\xb7 CPA designated or pursuing is an asset.\xc2\xb7 4 plus years of experience in Real Estate Development / Construction doing Project Accounting is required\xc2\xb7 Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office programs; knowledge of construction software is a highly desired.\xc2\xb7 Strong quantitative skills, established critical thinking and analytical ability\xc2\xb7 Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills\xc2\xb7 A team player that can work in an entrepreneurial environment and balance changing priorities, meeting deadlines and take direction from multiple sources\xc2\xb7 Self-motivated and proactive with an established track record of effectively completing tasks independently.\xc2\xb7 Strong attention to detail and adherence to standards with a track record of actively checking for accuracyRobert Half is the world\'s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
