Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking multiple Senior Procurement Specialists, Shipbuilding. We are looking for high performing procurement professionals with energy drive and ambition to join our talented team at Irving Shipbuilding, proudly building naval ships for Canada, in North America\'s most modern shipbuilding facility, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Qualifications:
\xc2\xb7 Education:
o Degree or diploma in business, supply chain, science or engineering or;
o Experience in lieu of formal education is accepted \xe2\x80\x93 a minimum of 9 years of supply chain experience within the shipbuilding industry
\xc2\xb7 Experience:
o A minimum of 7 years of supply chain procurement experience within the shipbuilding industry
o Previous experience with New Build Shipbuilding is preferred
\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated results leading negotiations and managing high-value, complex contracts
\xc2\xb7 The following Supply Chain accreditations would be considered an asset: SCMP, MCIPS or ISM
\xc2\xb7 Excellent organizational and time management skills
\xc2\xb7 Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks
\xc2\xb7 Strong analytical skills
\xc2\xb7 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
\xc2\xb7 High attention to detail
\xc2\xb7 Previous exposure to market analytics and insights
\xc2\xb7 Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills
\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of the Federal Government\xe2\x80\x99s Procurement policies and terms and conditions of trade
\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of industry wide Project Controls systems (analysis of KPI variations, trends and possible impacts to the Program)
\xc2\xb7 Previous teaching and mentoring experience

Key Responsibilities:
\xc2\xb7 Integrated sourcing initiatives including:
o Development and implementation of category sourcing strategies
o Analysis of market/supply conditions (e.g. availability, pricing, lead-times and capacity)
\xc2\xb7 Pre-contract activity including:
o Requirement definition and contracting strategy
o Supplier Qualification, tender process, RFI, RFP, RFQ with vendors
o Tender evaluations / supplier selection
\xc2\xb7 Contract management including:
o Development and execution of contracting plan
o Negotiation, execution and management of Equipment and Service contracts, direct with Tier 1 and Tier 2 OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers)
o Supplier Performance management including supplier quality, cost and delivery
o Risk identification and management within contract portfolio
o Purchase Order generation in support of strategic supplier activities
\xc2\xb7 Continuous improvement activities including:
o Program stakeholder engagement (Engineering, Program Management, Finance)
o Key Performance Indicator development and monitoring
o Development and refinement of supply chain processes
o Cost analysis for direct material and services
