Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking multiple Intermediate Procurement Specialists, Shipbuilding.

We are looking for high performing procurement professionals with energy drive and ambition to join our talented team at Irving Shipbuilding, proudly building naval ships for Canada, in North America\'s most modern shipbuilding facility, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Successful applicants will have a track record of making an impact on the performance of global supply chains and building high performing operational and commercial supplier relationships.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Qualifications:

\xc2\xb7 Education:

o Degree or diploma in business, supply chain, science or engineering or;

o Experience in lieu of formal education is accepted - at least 5 years of supply chain experience within the Shipbuilding industry

\xc2\xb7 Experience:

o A minimum of 3 years of supply chain procurement experience within the shipbuilding industry

o Previous experience with New Build Shipbuilding is preferred

\xc2\xb7 The following Supply Chain accreditations would be considered an asset: SCMP, MCIPS or ISM

\xc2\xb7 Previous experience with New Build Shipbuilding is preferred

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated organizational and time management skills

\xc2\xb7 Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks

\xc2\xb7 Strong analytical skills

\xc2\xb7 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

\xc2\xb7 High attention to detail

\xc2\xb7 Previous exposure to market analytics and insights

\xc2\xb7 Fluency in Microsoft Office

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of industry wide Project Controls systems

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Supplier management including:

o Develop and improve supplier quality, cost, and delivery performance

o Issue POs for material

\xc2\xb7 Contract management including:

o Negotiate contracts and long-term agreements

o Execution of negotiated contract through ISI\'s ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) & MRP (Material Resource Planning) systems.

o Provide advice on contractual claims

\xc2\xb7 Integrated sourcing initiatives including:

o Develop and implement category sourcing strategies

o Analyze market conditions (ex: pricing, availability, lead-time and capacity)

\xc2\xb7 Continuous improvement including:

o Support new product introduction activities

o Apply the principles of continuous improvement to the design and development of supply chain processe

o Undertake cost analysis for direct material and services
