What Is The Opportunity

Aecon is seeking a Sr. Scheduler/Planner to join the Urban Transportations Solutions group to support dynamic, transit projects. What You Will Do Here

Scheduling & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain all the required project schedules and ensure integrity of data across the entire project life cycle from design to execution.
  • Be responsible for creating the Schedule for Pursuits and Projects, ensuring durations and dependencies meet requirements and follow Best Practices standards.
  • Prepare Work Breakdown Structures for control and integrity of the work to be performed.
  • Develop Scheduling procedures/management plans.
  • Support both Pursuit and Project teams by reviewing RFP/PA documents and schedule-related requirements, drawings and specifications.
  • Perform resource planning and analysis. Forecast the requirement of various types of resources including labor, materials, and equipment over the course of the project based on work front\'s analysis.
  • Perform productivity analysis of construction operations and verifies.
  • Prepare required progress reports and dashboards to provide project status updates to all internal and external clients.
  • Analyze schedule variance, float and trending and monitor schedule KPI\'s.
  • Manage schedule change notices and forecast project impact. Implement corrective action when performance trends deviate from baseline.
  • Perform audits on various schedules including those produced by subcontractors, prepare all required output documents.
  • Apply continuous improvement in integration of schedules prepared by various partners and subcontractors to fully integrate and sequence all project activities.
  • Collaborate with all cross functional teams to maintain, add, or modify the schedule data and plans.
  • Interact with project management, design and construction teams, clients and subcontractors regarding planning and scheduling activities.
  • Review work of other planners/schedulers and perform schedule integrity checks.
  • Forensic analysis of projects schedules, produce recommendations for improvement and analyze schedule delays.
  • Oversee and support schedule 5D integration process with the 3D model and cost and report the outputs which includes cash flow and sequence simulations.
  • Oversee and support project change management, including subcontractor claims, change requests, claims and dispute resolution.
Risk Management
  • Identifies commercial/schedule risks and develops mitigation measures to ensure timely and high-quality planning and scheduling-related deliverables.
  • Understanding of Monte Carlo risk analysis process and contribute to Risk Mitigation Plan.
People Management
  • Creates and maintains a collaborative culture and environment that is open, inclusive and respectful.
  • supervise, develop and mentor project controls personnel (i.e. Project planners and planning coordinators .)
  • Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.
What You Bring to the Team
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 10-15 years rail transit industry experience.
  • Proven experience and ability in planning, scheduling and managing complex projects, and specifically LRT projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the \xe2\x80\x9cEarned Value Management\xe2\x80\x9d principles.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead project planning and scheduling staff.
  • Proven problem solver with sound judgment who accepts ownership and accountability.
  • Expert level knowledge of project Planning and Scheduling software which may include Primavera P6 & TILOS.
  • SAP, Hard Dollar, PowerBI, and Synchro knowledge will be an asset.
