Rogers is seeking a Senior Delivery Manager responsible for the design, development, iterations, and implementation of new features for the Billing, Ordering and Service management applications. Reporting to the Director of IT Billing at the Rogers Park Brampton Campus, this person will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of all residential projects working closely with IT Residential and other engagement teams. The role needs strong vendor management experience to manage development and code delivery to ensure the stability of the application in production. Additionally, this role is also responsible to hire candidates for technical positions and lead a team of strong and motivated technical leads.

What you will be doing...

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the software development team providing coaching, leadership, guidance, and performance management as required.
  • Resource management and utilization forecasting
  • Provide management of the software development life cycle through development to delivery ensuring milestones are properly defined and achieved.
  • Engaging in various project delivery SDLCs, waterfall, agile and DevOps.
  • Communicating professionally to Director / VP levels on a variety of subjects, delivery status, risk mitigation, and special projects.
  • Works closely with third-party technology vendors; ability to challenge the vendor design and estimates to ensure what is being built satisfies the needs of our business partners at a competitive price
  • Working with the application vendor, understanding the technology, application and system constraints, and associated capabilities
  • Liaise with all relevant organizational departments to plan and execute projects providing assurance project scopes are accurately and adequately defined in relation to software development.
  • Ensure the functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules and system architecture for each project.
  • Oversee design, code, and testing of major features in collaboration with the development team to deliver complex changes.
  • Execute Delivery of Billing initiatives for Rogers impacting Maestro and potentially other billing platforms
  • Responsible for the application delivery phase: solutions, estimates, design, development, testing and implementation
  • Ensure requirements are concise and allow for effective solution design
  • Deliver quality solutions to scope, budget and timeline commitments
  • Support teams and remove roadblocks to programs
  • Contribute to Application Roadmaps
  • Serve as Technology Advisor for application portfolio
  • Deliver on commitments through active collaboration & communication
  • Provide 3rd level support to all QA activities
  • Assist the Operations team with root cause analysis and remediation
  • Propose stability and performance improvement solutions/projects
  • Manage vendor relationships.: ensure SOWs and Work Orders are delivered in a timely manner with established SLA and Acceptance terms
  • Review estimates received from vendors and minimize costs for PCR\'s and MR\'s by accurately analyzing requirements and designing solutions
  • Develop talent and promote employee engagement
  • Motivate, direct, and coach, team members
  • Accentuate team strengths, mitigate weaknesses
  • Evaluate individual performance
What you have...
  • Undergraduate University Degree (e.g. B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the delivery of large-scale Business Support Systems through planning, development, and delivery with a mindset for operational support. Experience in eTOM modelling is a bonus
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing vendors in an application development outsourcing model
  • Proven experience building strong, high-performing teams
  • Proven experience working in a multitasking environment
  • Proven ability to priorities tasks and mobilizes resources to meet delivery demand
  • Demonstrated ability for clear and concise communication, both verbal and written
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence both upward and downward within the organisation
Nice to Have...
  • Experience in Telecommunications Business Support Systems Project/Program Delivery
  • Hands on technical experience with the Amdocs CES platform (Maestro).
  • Financial background including experience with revenue assurance process, collections, and fraud detection
  • Experience with DR strategies and Cloud
  • Experience with Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and process automation.
