Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Consumer Health business to create a new publicly traded company. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions and approvals.
It is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, this position may be conveyed with New Consumer Health. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to the successful candidate by New Consumer Health at an appropriate time and would be subject to any necessary consultation processes.
The Sr. Manager EHS, North America Deliver, Office & Road Safety will lead a team across multiple business functions seeking to optimize EHS resource deployment against strategic objectives.
The Sr. Manager EHS, Deliver, Office, & Road Safety will be a functional authority in the North America (NA) region for EHS compliance and programs associated with deliver operations, driving for company business, and other warehouse, field, and office-related activities. The position will also serve as the global SME on office and road safety establishing global policy, procedures, and programs. S/he will partner and routinely collaborate with country/company commercial leaders in road and office safety, NA EHS team, Office leaders and their operational teams, Engineering & Property Services (EPS), Facilities Management, Supply Chain, R&D, Deliver leadership, and external service providers to clarify and agree on roles and responsibilities and support the development of strategies and execute tactical plans that support the health and safety of employees based in Deliver, offices and in the field in the NA region.
H/EHS will lead the NA Deliver, Office, Road Safety teams to support a sustainable culture of EHS. The candidate is highly customer-focused and able to effectively communicate and network at all levels and successfully operate in multiple cultures.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of approximately 7 EHS/OH professionals across the region supporting 15+ office locations and approximately 6 Deliver sites.
  • Provide overall leadership, guidance, and oversight in the development, deployment, and assessment of comprehensive, fit for purpose global road and office Safety strategies, procedures, and training.
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence and Analytics team to visualize office, and road safety data to identify trends, develop programs to address, and utilize predictive analytics to anticipate areas of focus.
  • Identifies and implements strategies to close compliance gaps in existing deliver, road, and office safety processes and programs.
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with regional Single Points of Contacts, Office leads, EHS team, Deliver Leads – internal and external, and other partners to implement Deliver/road/office safety related strategies/programs and initiatives delivering EHS excellence in culture, performance, and process improvements
  • Prepare a robust strategy for implementing, leading, and executing plans, goals, and actions in alignment with deliver/road/office EHS standards and local/regulatory requirements with an aim at reducing crashes and Severe Injury/Fatalities (SIFs) within set targets.
  • Provide global and regional subject matter expertise in road/office safety, to include environmental aspects, and develop innovative solutions for competency building and resource allocation striving to create a best in class in EHS office, road, and deliver safety program.
  • Establish and own the regional deliver/road/office safety budgets and monitor NA team performance through regular road safety audits and office/deliver assurance audits.
  • Lead and deploy environmental sustainability initiatives in support of established targets.
  • Create engaging ergonomic, road, and office safety communications to drive engagement efforts to raise awareness about ergonomics, road safety and remote work/home office safety and orchestrate coordinated deployment across regions to include all populations across NCHC.
  • Participate in industry conferences, benchmarking activities, and customer survey activities and integrate knowledge within Deliver/Road/Office organizations.
  • Drive strategic improvements which are prioritized from a business perspective.
  • Partner with Procurement to provide EHS guidance in the selection process and governance of 3PL’s, and fleet vehicles.
  • Partner with Occupational Health Professionals to ensure the successful deployment of employee health, well-being, and performance programs and resources.
  • Collaborate with businesses and procurement to continuously review emerging vehicle safety features and requirements and recommend evidence-based decisions to raise the bar on vehicle selector safety requirements.
  • Identify risks and gaps, define, and drive the adoption of innovative and evidence-based solutions/interventions that impact employee safety on a broad basis including development of compelling business case and influencing Business Leaders and key stakeholders (e.g., IT, Legal, Commercial) to reach alignment and secure funding

Qualifications
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive EHS, E&PS or Operations experience
  • Strong EHS compliance orientation, Deliver/road/office safety subject matter expertise/experience
  • Safety & Environmental technical skills related to an office setting is critical.
  • Strategic supplier/vendor management/data analysis/operational skills.
  • Translate complex situations into simple working solutions, managing complexity, collaborating with all levels of management and influencing decision-makers across a matrix organization
  • Strong communication, influencing, negotiation, and creative analytical skills.
  • Ability to approach difficult situations, treat others respectfully, be open to diverse opinions, and arrive at decisions that are value-based, strategic, prudent, and compliant with standards and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Requirements/Competencies
  • Advanced degree in management or EHS technical field
  • Certifications in EHS (e.g. CSP, PE, CIH),
  • Six Sigma, FPX certification
  • Experience with local, state & federal regulatory authorities
  • Experience with data reporting and tracking systems.
