Sr. DevOps Manager, Technology

We are seeking a Sr. DevOps Manager reporting to the Director of Connected Home - Assisted & Unassisted Channels team. The channels team encompasses applications that our customers interact with Online, through Care, in Retail and Field sales agents. The candidate who fills this role will manage the DevOps team that will help to shape, build and release systems that help to empower and deliver capabilities throughout the organization.

What you will do:

Management:

  • Manage and grow a core team of Senior and Junior DevOps engineers consisting of both internal and external resources
  • Manage and prioritize feature development, support and administration of CI/CD platforms and tools Manage the infrastructure deployment and application development platforms on the Azure infrastructure
  • Work closely with development teams to facilitate migration and onboarding of applications from On-Premise to Cloud deployment platforms
  • Manage budget and forecast for the team members on a month-to-month basis and participate in budget reviews
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Help to mature the DevOps culture in the organization
Development:
  • Identify process improvement and automation opportunities and manage development of CI/CD pipeline
  • Assist the core development team with analysis and design for feature development on CI/CD platform and pipelines
  • Manage the Kubernetes Platform and incremental development and maintenance of clusters on AKS
  • Develop proof of concepts and proof of technology for new development ideas for the core team to build on from
  • Participate in debugging sessions and Prod/non-Prod incidents with the core team for technical and logistical support
Design and Review:
  • Actively participate in design review and decision making for development on Azure Cloud by Rogers and Vendor teams
  • Provide guidance and best practices addressing security, high availability, scalability and cost optimization of solutions on Azure
  • Understand, uphold and (as required) enforce the security postures, guard-rails and hardening principles in architecture and design review sessions
Collaboration:
  • Develop and manage cloud infrastructure working in close collaboration with Cloud Operations and Cloud Engineering teams
  • Initiate and participate in Security reviews, Security audit and Enterprise Access Review processes for Cloud infrastructure and access management
  • Collaborate with Network Security and Network Operations teams for Cloud to On-Prem and Cloud to Cloud connectivity as required by solution designs
  • Work with our operations team on a day-to-day basis monitoring the health of the applications
What you will bring:
  • Experience managing a development team
  • Experience in Agile development practices and delivery model
  • Coding experience (when required) in any procedural language (Python and groovy preferable) with proficiency in at least one
  • Experience with public cloud infrastructure and solution design concepts (AWS and Azure) with proficiency preferred in Azure
  • Experienced in Containerization and container based solution development (Docker; Kubernetes - EKS, AKS)
  • Experience with Linux systems
  • Hands on experience with Unix commands and scripting
  • Experience with SCM like Github, BitBucket or GitLab, with experience in managing branching strategies, tagging and release concepts
  • Experience in working with distributed teams situated locally or globally in different geographies
