This integral role combines the art of demand planning with the science of analytics, employing advanced statistical techniques and AI-driven tools to refine forecasting accuracy and operational efficiency. By working closely with internal teams and leveraging external expertise from leading AI specialists like Fiddlehead, this role is at the forefront of adopting innovative approaches to forecasting and demand management.*Fiddlehead: A Specialist Company in AI and ML for FMCG Predictive Forecasting.This position can be located at any one of our three corporate offices: Toronto, ON, Florenceville, NB or Oakbrook, IL.How You\'ll Add Value:

  • Forecasting Excellence: Lead the creation and maintenance of an accurate demand plan, incorporating business intelligence from sales, marketing, and finance, alongside cutting-edge analytical methodologies for various business segments.
  • Strategic Analysis and Modeling: Employ robust statistical and machine learning models to enhance forecasting precision and operational insights, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Process Automation and Improvement: Drive the automation of demand planning processes, focusing on streamlining operations and improving data flow between SAP IBP and analytical platforms like Power BI.
  • Data Integration and Management: Champion efficient data integration strategies, maintaining 100% data integrity in SAP IBP and ensuring accurate forecast combinations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Act as a central liaison between marketing, sales, IT, and external partners, facilitating consensus and aligning strategies to optimize the demand signal.
  • Reporting and Insights: Generate impactful reports and analyses to support decision-making, drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy, and manage demand planning metrics.
  • Software and Tools Proficiency: Utilize and maintain forecasting systems (e.g., SAP IBP), and support software updates. Skills in R/Python, SQL, Excel, and BI tools are a plus.
  • Knowledge Sharing and Documentation: Document processes, methodologies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), serving as a subject matter expert (SME) in demand planning and forecasting techniques.
About You:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor\'s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. A deeper understanding of operations research, machine learning, and time series analysis is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or data analysis, ideally within a consumer-packaged goods (CPG) environment.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with SAP IBP or similar forecasting systems. Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau), programming languages (R/Python, SQL) a plus.
  • Analytical and Organizational Abilities: Exceptional analytical and statistical skills, detail-oriented, with the capacity to manage large datasets and identify trends, variances, and forecast drivers.
  • Communication and Leadership: Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to lead discussions, influence consensus, and interact effectively across various levels of the organization.
