Sr. Architect I, Data Architect

We are seeking an experienced Senior Architect I to join our Guest Education Center Data Analytics Delivery team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding architecting and designing data engineering systems, with hands-on experience in Snowflake and ADF pipeline development, integration with Kafka and API, creating data patterns using Azure Data Factory and Databricks and Power BI. The candidate will be responsible for architecting and designing complex data pipelines and data solutions that meet business requirements, as well as working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify and implement data-driven solutions. The candidate will also lead, guide, and unblock developers when problems arise.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead architectural decisions, defend solutions in architectural committees, and obtain buy-in on solutions from technology leadership.
  • Contribute to overall architecture community of practice, in partnership with our Lead and Principal Architects.
  • Architect complex data pipelines using Snowflake, ADF, Databricks, Kafka and API integration.
  • Leverage solutions with Azure Data Factory and Databricks to create data processing workflows, ensuring scalability, reliability, security and performance.
  • Design data solutions/pipeline, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
  • Lead periodic design reviews with Solution Architecture, and incorporate design feedback to improve data solutions.
  • Work closely with data analysts, business analysts, PowerBI developers and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Lead and participate in Agile/Scrum planning and grooming sessions and ensure ownership of activities to deliver them within deadlines.
  • Create and maintain documentation for solution design, data pipelines, data models, and other technical specifications.
  • Design data pipeline operations, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis across the systems to ensure production uptime.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies and integrate them into data engineering processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Architecting solutions in data engineering.
  • Hands-on experience in Snowflake pipeline development, Kafka and API integration, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks.
  • Expertise in designing solutions in data warehousing, ETL/ELT design and development, and data modeling
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and/or Python
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and project coordination.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with strong collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with changing priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies such as Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks.
