Department Overview

The Enterprise Data Governance Office (EDGO) defines expectations and provides challenge on data management, governance and risk mitigation activities in support of TD\'s data strategy. We focus on proactively understanding the rapidly evolving data landscape, including TD\'s investments in data, changing industry practices, customer expectations and the regulatory environment in which we operate.

  • Expert level professional requiring in-depth knowledge in the area(s) of risk management and/or data management and governance.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert within their own area of specialty and as a resource for others.
  • Experience in assessing, understanding, and developing policies, standards, processes, templates, and/or guidance resources.
  • Ability to research and gain in-depth understanding of significant, complex, and/or large-scale businesses in a timely manner.
  • Interpersonal and relationship management skills with a focus on negotiation and collaboration, with an ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Leads and/or works in a team on projects and end to end processes of moderate to complex risk and resource requirements.
  • Identifies and leads analysis and resolution of complex problems at all levels, consulting with stakeholders where required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and change leadership skills, with an ability to adapt to change and multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge in ServiceNow, Archer, and/or Tableau (preferred but not required).
  • College, University, and/or equivalent work experience in banking, data, records/information, and/or risk management.

Job Details

Purpose of the Job The EDGO Senior Analyst, Testing (CAN) is responsible for a broad range of analysis and oversight while acting as a subject matter expert on a range of data risk related matters surrounding second line of defense Oversight and Challenge Testing. Testing is a critical risk management process utilized by the Bank to proactively manage and control risk exposures to reasonable levels within TD\'s risk appetite.
The successful candidate will work with EDGO, Risk Management, and other second line of defense stakeholders at various levels to drive the testing function. Testing utilizes a risk-based approach to evaluate the controls of each line of business to determine their compliance to EDGO requirements. Where required, the successful candidate would also provide oversight to the development, tracking, and closure of remediation plans to address identified non-compliance.

Key Accountabilities
  • Seasoned professional requiring in-depth knowledge/expertise in the area(s) of risk management and/or data management and governance.
  • Interprets internal / external business challenges and the industry environment, recommends course of action and best practices to improve products, processes, or services.
  • Works independently and as part of a team to manage end-to-end testing engagements.
  • Solves or leads others to solve complex problems; leads efforts or partners with others to develop new solutions.
  • Communicates difficult concepts; converts information into compelling business context and advice; influences and gains alignment across increasingly senior stakeholders.
  • Executes timely testing against businesses for compliance to EDGO standards; identifies risks from testing results and communicates them to EDGO and business stakeholders.
  • Assists in identifying areas of development in policies and standards aligned to data strategy as well as tools and guidance that enable implementation of policies and standards.
  • Leverages testing engagements to proactively determine emerging risks and needs within the business.
  • Maintains robust tracking and reporting that can be tailored for different audiences.
