Department Overview

The Enterprise Data Governance Office (EDGO) defines expectations and provides challenge on data management, governance and risk mitigation activities in support of TD\'s data strategy. We focus on proactively understanding the rapidly evolving data landscape, including TD\'s investments in data, changing industry practices, customer expectations and the regulatory environment in which we operate.

Breadth & Depth

  • Expert level professional requiring in-depth knowledge in the area(s) of risk management and/or data management and governance
  • Experience in assessing, understanding, and developing policies, standards, processes, templates, and/or guidance resources
  • Ability to research and gain in-depth understanding of significant, complex, and/or large-scale businesses in a timely manner
  • Interpersonal and relationship management skills with a focus on negotiation and collaboration, with an ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Leads and/or works in a team on projects and end to end processes of moderate to complex risk and resource requirements
  • Identifies and leads analysis and resolution of complex problems at all levels, consulting with stakeholders where required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and change leadership skills, with an ability to adapt to change and multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Strong knowledge of programing languages (i.e., SAS/SQL/R, Visual Basic, Python)
  • Knowledge in ServiceNow, and/or Tableau (preferred but not required)
  • College, University, and/or equivalent work experience in banking, data, records/information, and/or risk management

Job Details

Purpose of the Job The EDGO Senior Analyst, Testing & Monitoring (CAN) is responsible for a broad range of analysis and oversight while acting as a subject matter expert on a range of data risk related matters surrounding second line of defense Oversight and Challenge Testing. This role is also responsible for collecting data/information to interpret data, produce insights, create relevant collateral/ data visualization reports, and recommend actions on less complex issues to support business needs. The role provides consultative support, business insight, advice, and expertise to guide decision making and/or strategic planning by leveraging and interpreting data and analytical models to provide business specific or broad strategic insight and using a variety of audience-specific communication techniques.
The successful candidate will support Challenge and Oversight with the EDGO, consult with Risk Management, and other second line of defense stakeholders at various levels to drive the testing, monitoring, and data preparation function.

Key Accountabilities
  • Seasoned professional requiring in-depth knowledge/expertise in the area(s) of risk management and/or data management and governance
  • Interprets internal / external business challenges and the industry environment, recommends course of action and best practices to improve products, processes, or services
  • Works independently as the senior analyst / subject matter expert and may coach and educate others
  • Executes timely testing against businesses for compliance to EDGO standards; identifies risks from testing results and communicates them to EDGO and business stakeholders.
  • Maintains robust tracking and reporting that can be tailored for different audiences.
  • Produces weekly or monthly visual dashboards which evaluate performance and effectiveness of tactics in all business lines supported
  • Analyzes trends, provide insights and recommendations
  • Presents results, customer trends and other insight to business stakeholders and decision makers in a clear concise manner
  • Validates the quality and integrity of data in various bank systems and from external sources.
  • Gathers, documents and designs data integration and visualization requirements for analytical projects
  • Contributes to review of processes and assist in identifying potential opportunities to improve operational efficiencies
