We are looking for a Senior Learning & Development Advisor who will work with our human resource and training teams and all operational departments to assist in the structured and proactive development of employees.

This is a great opportunity for an experience Adult Instructor to play an integral part in supporting the learning and development initiatives of Diavik\xe2\x80\x99s workforce as we approach the end of mine life.

Reporting to the Superintendent, Training and working in a challenging and exciting environment within Training Assessment team, you will be working on a 1 week on / 1 week off rotation at the Diavik mine site. You will be responsible for:
  • Overseeing the site\xe2\x80\x99s Apprenticeship Program and other established developmental programs;
  • Working with relevant stakeholders to create development plans for key employee groups in preparation for Closure;
  • Identifying opportunities to improve achievement of commitments under the Socio-Economic Monitoring Agreement and Participation Agreements;
  • Delivering various education programs, as required by employee group and business need;
  • Creation and/or identification and implementation of various assessment tools;
  • Coordinating with Leaders and external parties, when required, to schedule development/educational sessions;
  • Identifying and prioritizing learning needs of specific employee segments and recommending potential solutions; and
  • Creating new training/development programs, with support from subject-matter experts, that align with operational objectives and priorities.
What you\xe2\x80\x99ll bring
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Education, or related field
  • Adult Education Certification would be an asset
  • At least 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 progressive work experience in adult instruction and career/behavioural assessments
  • Previous experience working in an industrial and remote workplace preferred
  • Familiarity with current adult education and distance learning techniques is critical
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • An ability to liaise with external and internal stakeholders effectively
Northern residency and experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the North, are assets.
