Job Description

The Faculty of Education is seeking qualified Contract Academic Staff (CAS) to teach the following online course during the 2024-25 Spring Session in our graduate program.

01:770 (NET) Issues and Trends in Educational Administration: Peer Mentoring, Induction, and Peer Coaching Programs (2025 Spring Session, Both Term May 5 - June 19, 2025)

This course explores theoretical frameworks, program design, interpersonal communication strategies, and research that focus on developing the capacity of novice teachers and school leaders. Mentoring programs typically pair novice and experienced educators in an ongoing relationship focused on providing support, challenge, and a personalized process for professional development. Induction programs offered by employers provide new hires with a robust introduction to an organization's values, procedures and expectations. Peer coaches support their teaching colleagues through skillful observation, dialogue, feedback, and co-planning. Current and aspiring educational leaders will deepen their understanding of how to support teacher growth through the identified processes.

Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a Master of Education Degree. Applicants may seek to establish an experiential/traditional equivalency to the Masters degree and are invited to contact the Dean of Educaton on how to establish equivalent academic or professional credientials; please direct such inquiries to the email address below. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a Ph.D. in a related field. Applicants should have a good understanding of the Manitoba school curriculum and have successful teaching, leadership and/or research experience. Experience teaching adult learners and experience using distance-mediated synchronous learning is preferred. The successful candidate must also be accepted into the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Salary:

$6,901 per 3 credit hour course
