Job Description

The Faculty of Education is seeking qualified Contract Academic Staff (CAS) to teach the following online course during the 2024-25 Summer Session in our graduate program.


04:770 (NET) Intercultural Counselling



(2025 Summer Session, Term 1 July 2 - 22, 2025)





The course will introduce the students to the theory and process of counselling as it interfaces with multicultural clients. The course will explore counselor beliefs and attitudes, provide knowledge of methods used to counsel in cross-cultural context and will train students to use skills which are

culturally sensitive.


Qualifications:





Applicants must hold a completed graduate degree in School Counselling, Guidance and Counselling, Counselling Psychology, Social Work or a closely related discipline. Applicants may seek to establish an experiential/traditional equivalency to the Masters degree and are invited to contact the Dean of Education on how to establish equivalent academic or professional credentials; please direct such inquiries to the email address below. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a PhD. Candidates must also be Certified Canadian Counsellors or registered with another suitable regulatory body. Counselling experience in a school setting or setting with children and youth is required. The successful candidate must also be accepted into the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Salary:

$6,901 per 3 credit hour course
