Position Summary:

You will be responsible for preparing, finishing, and detailing cabinetry components to meet Pronautic's high standards of craftsmanship. Working under the direction of the Lead Finisher, this role involves sanding, staining, sealing, and applying topcoats to achieve flawless finishes on custom cabinetry projects. The Finisher plays a key role in maintaining the quality and consistency of Pronautic's products while contributing to a clean, efficient, and collaborative finishing environment.

What You'll Do

Surface Preparation:

Sand, fill, and prepare wood and veneer components for finishing to ensure a flawless result.

Finish Application:

Apply stains, sealers, lacquers, paints, and topcoats using both spray and hand-applied methods.

Quality Control:

Inspect work throughout the finishing process for consistency, defects, and overall quality.

Repair & Touch-Up:

Perform minor repairs and touch-ups on finished components prior to assembly or installation.

Equipment Maintenance:

Clean and maintain finishing tools and spray equipment to ensure top performance.

Safety & Housekeeping:

Follow all shop safety protocols, including proper handling of materials and maintaining a clean workspace.

Collaboration:

Work cooperatively with the Lead Finisher, Production Manager, and other team members to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.

What We're Looking For

Experience:

2+ years in wood finishing, ideally within a custom cabinetry, furniture, or millwork environment.

Technical Skills:

Skilled with stains, lacquers, paints, sealers, and various finishing techniques.

Attention to Detail:

Exceptional focus on quality, color consistency, and surface smoothness.

Team-Oriented:

Works well under supervision, takes feedback constructively, and contributes to a positive shop culture.

Physical Requirements:

Comfortable standing for long periods, lifting materials safely, and working in a production environment.

Safety Awareness:

Knowledge of safe handling and disposal of finishing materials and chemicals.

Pronautic is a top-end custom cabinetry and millwork company based in North Saanich, BC. With over 20 years in the industry, Pronautic supplies custom fit cabinetry and millwork solutions to our clients from our 16000 square foot production facility near the Victoria International airport.

We specialize in high-end residential millwork, but we don't stop there. We complete projects across a wide range of sectors, including the marine industry (yacht and commercial ship interiors), camper interiors, and commercial offices and restaurants. We also supply RTE cabinetry and contract finishing services to our partners throughout greater Victoria.

Our team delivers outstanding quality to clients who value precision and aesthetics in their cabinetry.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
