Speech-Language Pathologist - Pediatric & Developmental Focus
Location: Split between Scarborough and Oshawa/Bowmanville (based on client needs)
Schedule: Flexible - Part-Time or Full-Time
At Mount Etna Child & Family Services, we are more than a therapy clinic--we are a mission-driven, neurodiversity-affirming teaching centre rooted in relationship-based, naturalistic, and evidence-based care. We support autistic children and neurodivergent youth across home, school, and community environments, blending developmental and behavioural science with compassion, creativity, and cultural responsiveness.
As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) at Mount Etna, you will join a collaborative team of RBAs, supervised behaviour clinicians, CDAs, and occupational therapy partners. You'll have the opportunity to shape meaningful outcomes for children with diverse communication profiles, with access to programs such as Jolly Phonics, Hanen, AAC integration (e.g., LAMP/TouchChat), and Naturalistic Developmental Behavioural Interventions (e.g., ESDM).
This role is ideal for an SLP who thrives in play-based, interdisciplinary, and family-centered work--and who values flexibility and creativity in helping children find their voice across real-world environments such as our sensory-friendly clinics, local parks, schools, and homes.
Your Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive speech, language, social communication, and feeding assessments using developmentally appropriate tools.
Co-create meaningful, play-based, and functional treatment plans for preschool and school-age clients.
Collaborate closely with caregivers, behaviour clinicians, CDAs, and teachers to support generalization and progress across environments.
Provide caregiver coaching, in-the-moment modeling, and strength-based strategies that empower families.
Supervise or co-treat with Communication Disorders Assistants (CDAs) in alignment with CASLPO standards.
Document session data, progress, and recommendations within JaneApp in compliance with professional regulations.
Participate in ongoing training and consultation in AAC, social communication, multilingual language development, and trauma-informed care.
What You Bring:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university
Current registration and good standing with CASLPO, with eligibility to supervise CDAs
Pediatric experience (clinic, school, early intervention, or private practice) preferred
Comfort working in home or community environments with caregiver presence
Openness to collaborating with behaviour analysts and contributing to a neurodiversity-affirming model
Familiarity with or interest in AAC, gestalt language processing, and early social communication
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and culturally responsive communication skills
Why Join Mount Etna?
Caseload split between Scarborough and Oshawa/Bowmanville locations based on client needs (2 days and 3 days)
Potential for a salaried position once a caseload of 25 billable clients is established
Competitive contractor compensation with flexibility for part-time or full-time schedules
A supportive and inclusive teaching clinic environment
Opportunities to mentor and collaborate with CDAs and interdisciplinary colleagues
Access to shared assessments, curriculum materials, AAC tools, and training
A team of purpose-driven professionals dedicated to equity, inclusion, and community-based care
If you're a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of neurodivergent children--while being part of a collaborative, family-centered, and forward-thinking team--we'd love to meet you.
