The Specialty Sales representative - SPECIALTY role is to promote Pendopharm and Pharmascience Cardiology, Multiple sclerosis and Epilepsy portfolios to targeted specialists. In this role, the person is responsible to develop and expand PMS and Pendopharm business relationships with the assigned customer base in order to increase sales and profit and achieve commercial objectives.

Also, the representative is the owner of the Specialty business within the assigned geography and is accountable to create comprehensive business plans, strategies and proposals to grow existing market as well as identifying new business opportunities in collaboration with the Hospital Key Account Manager (HKAM).

The territory includes: London, Hamilton and occasional travel outside the Province

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Achieve and exceed established sales, profitability targets and business objectives for all identified customers.
  • Deliver required promotional efforts such as targeted detailing for accountable product(s) and reach and frequency against objectives, marketing programs achievements, project management, message delivery with Challenger approach as examples
  • Increase sales and create demand through identified key targets detailing and by supporting the HKAM activities in his operations with the RFPs, Hospitals and GPOs
  • Monitor sales performance of key geographies/customers and exhibit deep understanding of business dynamics (Portfolio and competitors) to propose changes to the brands strategies and tactics, where appropriate, to minimize backorders and/or to identify future opportunities related to the portfolio and organization's benefit
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and communicate the monthly progress against the plan to ensure achievement of business objectives, exceptional customer service and maximize service levels;
  • Build and maintain strong and long-lasting relationships with customers through regular face to face meetings and business reviews. Partner with customers to understand their business objectives;
  • Work closely with the marketing team to provide input to enable effective program development, Challenger messaging, as well as other pertinent customer specific insights impacting the respective brands knowledge, strategic direction and plan.
  • Create an annual business plan for each hospital account and GPO. Monitoring sales execution against the plan and adjusting the plan accordingly to exceed annual sales and profit targets;
  • Ensure strategic alignment with PMS generic and PendoPharm teams through regular communications and collaboration. Coordinate joint business planning and presentations as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, adverse event reporting and PAAB.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge, experience and ability to navigate the complexities related to the identified CNS customer base with the objective of appropriately and quickly turning opportunities in direct acquired business
  • Demonstrated business acumen to analyze, identify and propose creative solutions to the customer.
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional persuasion and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communications skills to promote and sell ideas as well as products.
  • Proven ability of having influence and leadership on people's decision making and actions without formal authority.
  • Strong entrepreneurial abilities to take risks and resolve problems and issues with clients in a manner that makes economic sense for both parties.
  • Customer focused to build trust and confidence in PMS as a business solutions provider.
  • Results-oriented person with resilience to thrive in a highly competitive environment.
  • High level of professionalism and personal integrity.
  • Demonstrated coaching, leadership and personal management skills.
  • Knowledge of Multiple Sclerosis and Epilepsy therapeutic areas would be an asset.
Bachelor in Business or Health Sciences. MBA or Msc are assets

Minimum of 5 years' experience in the pharmaceutical/or related market with experience in CNS and Account Management
