Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for the full cycle of recruitment. This includes attracting, sourcing and selecting candidates for a variety of roles.

You will be responsible for actively managing a high-quality recruitment process, define and report on meaningful metrics and use data to maximize recruitment efforts.

As our Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will actively apply an inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) lens to all talent acquisition work and ensure a positive candidate\'s experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition

  • Oversee full cycle internal and external recruitment for all position levels and business units of the organization. This includes supporting international recruitment and secondments from other World Vision offices.
  • Source, screen, present offers, negotiate, and decline candidates. Ensure legal compliance at any point of the talent acquisition life cycle.
  • Ensure talent attraction and employer brand strategy is executed in line with organization\'s requirements.
  • Partner closely with Managers to ensure we have effective talent attraction/sourcing support.
  • Equip and train new Hiring Managers on World Vision Canada\'s recruitment process, interviewing techniques, and legal requirements for recruiting. Coach all Hiring Managers to ensure they are as skilled and effective in the recruitment activities as possible.
  • Evaluate and screen applicants thoroughly using judgement. Provide shortlist of suitable candidates to Hiring Manager with detailed and thorough screening notes.
  • Provide input and influence decision making, keeping in mind required competencies and behaviours, as well as ensuring the process is equitable and unbiased.
  • Address accommodation requests from candidates appropriately.
  • Provide career guidance and counsel to internal staff.
  • Conduct research via external boards (LinkedIn) and ATS (Talent Community) to source, create and update candidate pools.
  • Provide interview questions from maintained database to Hiring Manager as required as well as provide guidance on interview set.
  • Provide guidance on assessments (skills, traits, leadership, etc.), process, and upload all results and data to Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Answer employment inquiries over phone, email and online platforms.
  • Oversee the Employee Referral program including strategy and communications.
  • Oversee the Internship program including policy and procedures. This includes building partnerships with external institutions so that World Vision Canada is top of mind to attract new talent.
  • Look for efficiencies, new ways to conduct business, and stay on top of trends.
Manage Job Postings and online Career Presence
  • Collaborate with Hiring Managers to create compelling job postings.
  • Suggest and create questionnaires to effectively funnel qualified candidates.
  • Post open positions on internal/external websites ensuring proper formatting, grammar, and spelling. Track closing dates - extending as needed.
  • Coordinate charge back or payment of job board costs to appropriate department.
  • Update and maintain job board database. Analyze and track efficiency of online job boards.
  • Create new ways to market WVC jobs; maintain WVC.ca/careers and any other employer web profiles (Indeed, Glassdoor.)
Qualifications:
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Human Resources or similar field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years\' experience in a Talent Acquisition role.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional designation preferred.
  • Understanding of Canadian (and international) legal contexts including the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights, diversity, inclusion, and accommodation best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) are critical.
  • Experience coaching and training leaders in the area of recruitment or other human resources matters.
  • Marketing or employer branding experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in sourcing diverse talent, as well as experience in social media outreach.
  • Results oriented and thrives in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Tactful and diplomatic in sensitive situations. Demonstrating sound judgement.
  • Previous experience with managing confidential information.
  • Proven attention to detail is very important as well as the ability to oversee several moving parts simultaneously is critical to success.
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce is an asset.
