Stewardship & Engagement Specialist
to join our Vancouver-based Stewardship & Engagement team. The Stewardship & Engagement team is focused on ESG issues (e.g., climate risk, diversity and human rights) and works closely with the investment teams on active ownership activities such as company engagements, voting and collaborative initiatives with other investors and advocacy organizations.
What You Will Do
Assist with engagement activities with investee companies, including planning, coordination, and preparation.
Prepare briefing materials, research reports, and data analysis to support engagement objectives.
Track engagement progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with the execution, analysis, and reporting of proxy votes
Assist with portfolio carbon footprint reporting and analysis
Collate stewardship & engagement information and contribute to external reporting, such as annual UN PRI reporting and client reporting
Respond to ad hoc requests from the portfolio management teams
What You Bring
1-3 years of work experience in an institutional money manager/asset management affirm, or in a similar environment. Developed knowledge of ESG concepts and frameworks.
An undergraduate degree in a relevant field, such as Economics, Commerce, Sustainability or Political Science.
Exceptional attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills and proven ability to think both critically and creatively
You can articulate yourself well both verbally and in writing and can collaborate with others to solve complex problems
Proficiency in MS Suite, especially Excel
Sound judgment, detail-oriented, and experience working on multiple initiatives/projects concurrently
You are a sharp, ambitious, and enthusiastic person who is able to work under pressure and drive change
The salary range for this position is $53,000 - $67,000. The salary range provided reflects the base salary range for this position as required by legislation. In addition, there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation of this position. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process.
