Responsibilities:
Full time position moved between dedicated referral processing time, covering reception and nursing station.
Key job positions:
- Coordinate and manage patient referrals in a timely and efficient manner
- Communicate with patients, providers to ensure smooth referral process
- Schedule appointments for referred patients with specialists or other healthcare providers
- Obtain necessary medical records and documentation for referrals
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date referral records in electronic medical records system
- Collaborate with the administrative team to ensure proper billing and coding for referrals
- Assist with front desk duties as needed, including answering phones and scheduling appointments
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a medical office setting completed large number of referrals with proper follow up protocols
- Familiarity with Healthquest an asset
- Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records systems
- Strong administrative skills, including attention to detail and organization
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly and professional demeanor
