AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:



Reporting to the Coordinator, Marketing, Performing Arts, this role leads in the development, design and execution of all Performing Arts social networking and websites. Cultivate and engage online community, generate ticket sales, and promote the performance seasons, and arts and culture in Brampton, through targeted marketing strategies.

  • Lead the development and execution of targeted marketing campaigns for the City\xe2\x80\x99s Performing Arts Program including social content and campaigns to increase brand awareness, engagement and traffic. Identifies markets, develops social media strategy, supervises execution, evaluates results and manages vendor relationships.
  • Creates, designs and manages content across social networking sites to establish brand authority, manage company reputation, provide customer care, facilitate partnerships with key social media influencers, and introduce offers where appropriate.
  • Provide social media coverage for in-person and livestreamed events.
  • Coordinates and distributes Performing Arts newsletter communicating business headlines and events. Acts as main point of contact for content, consistent messaging, design and approvals.
  • Creates and maintains brand content across a variety of social platforms, drives social interactions and supports specific content marketing initiatives.
  • Coordinate and lead video projects and assets from initial visioning through script, work with videographer on recording, production, and final distribution. Work with Marketing Coordinator to develop video strategy throughout the year in addition to performance promotions
  • Collects and analyzes data from all social media marketing initiatives. Identify appropriate social media channels for achieving specific business objectives and tailor messaging to target audience for each channel. Provide recommendations to improve content and online presence.
  • Assembles images, typography and other visuals to produce a compelling web and landing page copy to create a brand value.
  • Develops unique market research and analysis to explore new ideas, trends in social media innovation, strategies, tactics and platforms.
  • Develops and implements SOP and guidelines related to social media activity and provides training to Economic Development team members.
  • Maintains current knowledge of issues in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Liaises with key departments and stakeholders. Builds and maintains relationships with cross-functional departments, teams, and management and external partners to support coordination and ensure thorough understanding of operational needs.
  • Supports marketing initiatives, and assists in preparing related marketing assets.
  • Ensures effective use of resources and expense management. Provides recommendation on effective marketing initiatives and associated costs for annual budgeting process.
  • Prepares, presents and advises on social media initiatives, strategies and outcomes.



SELECTION CRITERIA:


  • High School (Grade 12) graduation plus an additional program of over two (2) and up to three (3) years in Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Communications
  • Over two (2) years, upto and including four (4) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in performing arts marketing in leading, managing social media accounts, campaigns and communications.
  • Over one (1) year up to and including two (2) years in a theatre environment.
  • Proven ability to work in a highly collaborative environment with strong project management skills.
  • Experience in managing cross-channel marketing campaigns including websites, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and social media communities (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
  • Strong communication and creative writing skills.
  • Experience in executing web and social media strategies and campaigns
  • Experience in advertising, public relations and online marketing is preferred. Current knowledge of up-to-date trends and best online and marketing practices.
  • History of successful results driven digital marketing campaigns that show an in-depth understanding of the digital space.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with social media listening and email management tools such as but not limited to, Sysomos, Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Google Alerts, Mailchimp, and HootSuite.
  • Proven knowledge of website and analysis tools. Strong SEO knowledge and ability to analyze keyword and analytics data.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiencies in MS Office software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proficient in photo and video editing and publishing software such as but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite as well as publishing platforms.
  • Knowledge of, and passion for, the performing arts, producing and presenting practices and techniques is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Brampton\xe2\x80\x99s arts and culture sector, and local and national performing arts industry is an asset.
