What You'll Be Doing

As a Settlement Officer, you will be responsible for settling and processing trades on our European Equities platform. You must understand numerous complex products, associated trade events (including accounting activities) and other related process flows. Coordinate with clients daily on settlements confirmations, funding requirements and margin call resolutions. The role will require frequent professional engagement with clients, traders, regulators, senior leaders and other support staff. Additional accountabilities involve wire payments, coupon/interest repayment, reconciliation, stock record break remediation, settlement break investigations. The Settlement Officer will also be responsible for documenting daily processes, changes to processes, as well as providing feedback on processes improvement opportunities, working collectively with direct management team to streamline and implement new opportunities. Ensure that all assigned initiatives are implemented in an effective manner within area of responsibility. Participate in meetings to answer questions as the Subject Matter Expert.

How You'll Succeed

Attention to detail & Analytical Skills - Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring that all client agreements and trade commitments are adhered to. All trading activity is fully balanced and settled by specified SLAs without errors or breaks. Regularly participate in research and analysis of discrepancies between internal records, custodians and counterparties.

Relationship Building: Required to respond to client's inquires and requests, providing professional high quality customer service for the assigned portfolio to ensure client satisfaction. You will liaise and interact with clients as part of the daily management of your portfolio.

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating and resolving organizational, operational or process problems. Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives.

Operational Functions: Knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements. Seeks efficiencies in operational functions wherever possible. Experience with CDS, Arrow, DTC, Euroclear, Clearstream, Broadridge, Neolink, etc.

Effective Communication: Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviours, tools and techniques. Communicates well downward, upward, and outward.
