About this opportunity:
The Maintenance Specialist will be providing technical support and project management to the Lloydminster Thermal & Conventional Heavy Oil (LTCHO) Maintenance team.
This position is based in our Lloydminster office with regular visits to operational facilities.

This is a full-time employee position working a shift rotation
What youll do:
Safety champion
Lead critical safety improvement initiatives and be a role model to drive the maintenance safety culture
Lead projects and deliverables:
Lead project development opportunities ensuring alignment to maintenance principles
Liaise with various project partners and departments focusing on team deliverables.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives
Support category management and procurement initiatives and contracts. Have good working knowledge of managing contracts and contract negotiations.
Understanding of procurement and materials management practices
Key contributor to Reliability and Integrity compliance, focusing on continuous improvement
Drive Maintenance performance improvement
Drive and optimize execution KPIs
Monitor project progression and complete reporting to ensure team metrics are achieved
Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Single point of contact for Vendor Joint Execution Team meetings driving optimization initiatives
Proven analytical skills
Ensure processes are carried out effectively and drive continuous improvement:
Support with maintaining maintenance documentation and procedures
Support the development of new and modify existing procedures and work instructions
Support the CAP-M program lifecycle for embedded trades team (Competency Assurance Program - Maintenance)
Who you are:
Journeyperson trade certification or Technical Diploma from an accredited institution is considered an asset.
Minimum of 12 years related experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, pulp and paper or power generation industries
Experience / working knowledge of:
Facility maintenance, project development/ management/ execution, cost and time management, HAZOPs, and management of change processs (MOCs)
Support the development and implementation of procedures, standards, competency assurance activities

Is organized, takes initiative, and able to prioritize
Is an analytical problem solver
Works well in a team as well as individually to achieve results in a busy environment with multiple collaborators and various technical backgrounds
Is a fast learner with the ability to develop and enhance new ideas
Is efficiency focused and can identify and implement improvements to enhance work execution and/or operational integrity
A good understanding and working knowledge of:
Various engineered drawings and documents, e.g., P&IDs, single lines, datasheets
Applicable energy codes, standards, regulations, and acts
Safety certifications as stipulated by Cenovus Energy
As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments
For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate
