Specialist, Leadership & Organizational DevelopmentBC Emergency Health ServicesBC (Hybrid)Regular, Full-Time, Permanent, Non-ContractBC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialist, Leadership & Organizational Development (LD/OD).Role SummaryThis exciting new position within our Employee Experience team and will play a crucial part in supporting BCEHS\' commitment to culture transformation, working alongside a team of people professionals within the People, Culture, and Diversity portfolio.Bringing a caring, coaching mindset, you will partner with BCEHS leaders to uncover strengths, overcome challenges, and create opportunities for growth and change. Harnessing your broad skills in OD and LD, you will work closely with your colleagues and clients to embed values, actions, and behaviors that align with culture transformation and BCEHS\xe2\x80\x99 People Plan and Strategic Plan.Reporting to the Manager, Leadership & Organizational Development, the Specialist, LD/OD is responsible for ongoing development of individuals and teams to enhance the organization\xe2\x80\x99s performance. The Specialist, LD/OD facilitates and leads leadership development programs and courses across BCEHS, contributes to culture and organizational development strategies and projects, and provides coaching to teams & individual leaders.The Specialist, LD/OD works collaboratively with other teams to assess leadership needs and supports all elements of BCEHS\xe2\x80\x99s leadership strategy and specifically the development of leadership competencies, leadership continuity projects and leadership development programs. They will lead and participates in the development, and facilitation of leadership programs, including coaching.What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

  • Partners strategically, both internally and externally to share knowledge and enhance integration in an increasingly complex health and human resource environment.
  • Designs and/or participates in the design and delivery of personal, management and leadership development programs or processes across BCEHS.
  • Partners with Clinical and Corporate Departments as well as HR partners to assess needs and determine/develop plans and programs to support leadership development and competency optimization, to support development of BCEHS\xe2\x80\x99s overall leadership strategy and accountability.
  • Provides recommendations on leadership development programs in alignment with the human resource goals and objectives of BCEHS.
  • Maintains online systems related to course participation and assessments.
  • Supports program design and training to staff and physicians to develop organizational capacity and excellence in the areas of leadership development and competency, utilizing new and emerging technologies to support learning and system adoption.
  • Collaborates with provincial health authority partners to achieve integration of leadership programs, at the direction of the BC Health Leadership Development Collaborative.
  • Performs needs assessment and delivers targeted mindset, skill set, and capabilities curriculum and/or programs to address the needs identified.
  • Builds organizational capacity and increases leadership support within BCEHS programs by identifying, developing, and delivering leveraged organizational & leadership development.
  • Collaborates with additional teams to ensure an integrated and consistent service delivery and overall effectiveness of BCEHS programs and strategies.
  • Coaches leaders and teams in applying and/or improving employee engagement, change, continuous improvement, team building, and culture.
What you bringQualificationsA level of education, training and experience equivalent to a master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Adult Learning or Organizational Learning and Training or a related discipline, plus five (5) years of recent related experience in the design and delivery of leadership and organizational development programs including competency development.Coaching certification is preferred.Skills & Knowledge

Indigenous Cultural Safety and Diversity
  • Knowledge of Canadian colonial impacts on Indigenous people in social and health contexts, supported by significant knowledge of Canadian and Indigenous ideologies, including knowledge, and understanding of Indigenous cultural safety, cultural humility, Indigenous-specific racism and anti-racism.
  • Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission\xe2\x80\x99s 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Site Report (2020), BC\'s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls calls for justice, and how they intersect across the health care system.
  • Supports team members on their learning journey, ensuring education strategy for team/department to implement Indigenous Cultural Safety at a practical level.
  • Works collaboratively with appropriate Indigenous teams/departments to ensure ICS lens applied holistically.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC\'s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.)
