Join the Housing Programs \xe2\x80\x93 Risk Management, Strategy and Products team in the Specialist, Initiatives position. In this role, you will provide research, analysis and guidance to respond to changing issues and trends in CMHC\'s operating environment and contribute to the development, enhancement and operationalization of new and existing government programs, policies, services and systems, continually ensuring that client needs are met throughout the process. You will support the activities required to help sectors focus their energy on common goals in a disciplined effort to produce fundamental decisions and actions that will shape and guide what CMHC does now and in the future.What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:Perform high-level/broad analysis and leverage colleagues within the team for more detailed analytical results, as well as the data from the operations group, Finance and external data providers to develop the advice and recommendations on the development of new and/or enhancement of existing housing programs.Measure the results of new or enhanced programs, services, systems and policies in relation to internal and external client requirements to ensure that client needs are met, and program objectives are achieved.Develop and maintain strong internal relationships to support the operationalization of Housing Programs and operational efficiency.Assist in the coordination of initiatives by liaising with various teams across the company to ensure corporate and housing program objectives are set and outcomes are achieved.Solicit input from stakeholders and clients on issues affecting current programs and identify opportunities for new or revised products, policies, services and systems.Assist in supporting project planning, management and measurement of projects.Act as a subject matter expert on housing programs by providing guidance, advice and recommendations to senior management on strategy and products, policies and procedures.Assist in the preparation of Memorandums to Cabinet, Treasury Board Submissions, briefing notes, management submissions, executive updates, and correspondence to respond to requests and concerns, ensuring an accurate and timely corporate position.What you should have:An undergraduate degree in business, economics, finance or a related field.A minimum of five years of experience with increasing responsibility in research, analysis, policy and program development, as well as three years of experience in a similar role in real estate development or real estate finance.An understanding of Canada\xe2\x80\x99s Housing Finance system, Housing Policy, markets, appropriations, mortgage insurance and funding, the secondary mortgage market, lending/underwriting practices, and default management.A solid understanding of the business context in which one is operating that informs planning and decision-making.An ability to draft understandable, clear and consistent documents on topics within the areas of responsibility and to explain the content to a variety of audiences.An ability to take initiative and work in a multi-team environment or independently.A demonstrated ability to apply problem-solving techniques and conduct data analysis.Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.It would be great if you also had:A strong basis in the foundational application, awareness and analysis of multi-unit and residential housing development, finance and underwriting including systems/processes.An understanding and awareness of social, economic and political trends affecting the provision of housing.Other certifications (Project Management, Lean Six Sigma, ADKAR, Prosci)An experience in the implementation of change management strategies.Posting closing date: Note, the competition may remain active until filled.Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusionWe\xe2\x80\x99re committed to employment equity and encourage women, Indigenous Peoples, persons with disabilities, veterans and persons of all races, ethnicities, religions, abilities, sexual orientations, and gender identities and expressions to apply.
