Join us!Job SummaryThe Specialist, Global Mobility is responsible for supporting Global Mobility in various tasks for the smooth execution of the entire relocation process, tax and immigration process for expatriates, working closely with team members and service providers to ensure success and customer satisfaction. The position supports the Manager, Global Mobility of all relocations, encompassing addressing queries and finding solutions for issues raised by Human Resources (HR), relocation vendors and transferees.Main ResponsibilitiesGlobal Mobility - 65%Support transferees and their family members on all aspects of the transferee's relocation with arrangements pertaining to the sale or buy-out of residential real estate, leases, transportation of household goods and purchase or rental of a residence at the new location, in accordance with the organization's relocation policy and cost guidelinesAct as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and support various CN stakeholders on relocation-related issues (e.g., Human Resources (HR), Operation, Finance)Collaborate and communicate directly with the transferees to identify issues related to the transferee's relocation and find solutions for a seamless experience in accordance with the organization's relocation policyMakes recommendations on how to manage exceptions and potential amendments to the relocation policyMonitor and make recommendations to improve internal processesPrepare reports for managementEnsuring data accuracy and keep internal database updated with all the relevant information and documentsSpecial Projects and Strategy - 10%Support the Manager, Global Mobility on ongoing review of policies, programs, processes, and monitoring of market best practicesParticipates in portfolios strategies by proposing ideas and suggest new approaches (e.g., vendor management, application, and review of the relocation policy, adapting freedom to operate)Act as an SME within CN in support of other functionsVendor Management - 10%Build and maintain strong relationships with vendorsCollaborate with vendors to ensure proper application of processes and policiesCollaborate and communicate directly with vendors to understand transferees' needs and provide guidance regarding the organization's relocation programsWork closely with vendors to have their issues resolved as early as possible by liaising with appropriate parties at CNSupport the Manager, Global Mobility in the implementation of new vendorsLead initiative related to building process related to payment of invoices with new vendorsImmigration and Cross-Border - 10%Work alongside tax and immigration providers for accurate reporting and complianceParticipates in the cross-border and international tax protection process including the year-end preparation of income tax reports and tax settlementsTax Reporting and Financial Aspect - 5%Prepare necessary documents for the distribution of any move-related funds such as equity advances, allowances, and bonusesEnsure year-end process deadlines are met and payroll entries are completedEnsure monthly and yearly reconciliations for internationals, cross-border relocations, and intermittent travellersWorking ConditionsThe role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. As the main point of contact for the relocation vendors and first point of escalation for the transferees, the position makes regular recommendations to the Manager, Global Mobility Relocation and potential amendments to the relocation policy, services, and processes. Moreover, the role approves the non-executive and high-level exceptions to the policy and reviews the vendor invoices.Level of Interaction/InfluenceThe Specialist, Global Mobility interacts with individuals internal and external to CN. Within the organization, the incumbent liaises with Payroll, HR, Information and Technology (I&T), and internal clients across the company. Outside of CN, the role communicates with various external relocation vendors.Employees Supervised/Organizational StructureThe Specialist, Global Mobility reports to the Manager, Global Mobility and has no supervisory responsibility.About CNCN is a world-class transportation leader and trade-enabler.
