Specialist, Finance Transformation & Strategy

Reporting to the Manager, Finance Transformation & Strategy, the Specialist is responsible for the facilitation of the improvement process across Finance’s Transformation efforts. They will coordinate transformational change across the various Finance sub-functions, liaising with workstream owners to ensure cadence and results. The Specialist, Finance Transformation & Strategy will support the creation of the Finance long-term strategy and accompanying annual objectives to ensure Finance effectiveness. This position offers visibility into all areas of the Finance function.

Responsibilities:


  • Facilitate the improvement process with initiative owners, including identification, scoping and planning, coupled with regular reviews to ensure cadence and delivery
  • Work closely with workstream owners to scope and integrate change management activities and deliverables into their initiatives
  • Identify risks and hurdles associated with initiatives, and coordinate mitigation plans
  • Coach/mentor change champions in change activities supporting implementation.
  • Provide change management status reports throughout projects
  • Support deployment activities such as producing documentation, training materials, and conducting train-the-trainer sessions
  • Based on lessons learned, evaluate and continuously improve change management support tools, templates and guidelines.
  • Accelerate the application and standardize the approach to change management across Finance sub-functions
  • Support the creation of the Finance long-term strategy #LI-JN1


Qualifications:


  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources, Change Management, Finance or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years direct professional business experience in organizational change management
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing Change Management plans throughout the project life cycle
  • Prosci (or other) Change Management certification would be an asset
  • Solid interpersonal skills with the proven ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous and evolving situations
  • Ability to clearly identify and articulate priorities, success factors, risks and opportunities to the project team.
  • Ability to synthesize information and to clearly articulate precise messages to a variety of audiences including executives and senior management.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a matrix structure.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to influence and work with others to obtain consensus across a diverse group, and work collaboratively with multiple internal and external resources.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.
