Summary

The Specialist, Content Distribution Strategy will play a key role in crafting the tactics to bring Bell Media\xe2\x80\x99s leading portfolio of video assets to Canadians, maximizing both reach and revenue. This individual will support Bell Media\xe2\x80\x99s different distribution channels including direct-to-consumer, traditional pay TV, and in-app-purchase partnerships across our various brands (Crave, TSN, RDS, CTV, Noovo, and more). In addition, this individual will play an instrumental role in supporting Bell Media\xe2\x80\x99s strategic planning process, ensuring Bell Media is optimally positioned in the ever evolving and increasingly digital TV industry. This is a key business role that requires exceptional analytical skills, critical thinking, complex modelling, and deep understanding of all things TV.

Key Responsibilities

Negotiation and Sales Support

  • Support negotiations with revenue analytics and modelling. Create and develop sophisticated financial models to evaluate offers. Summarize and present conclusions. Interface with clients as necessary.
  • Work closely with the Subscriber Revenue Analytics Team to ensure all negotiation models are bridged to the latest subscriber reports, forecasts, and the annual business plan.
  • Prepare presentations including the impact of key negotiations, benefits and return on investment for sales initiatives, subscriber revenue presentations, and other business initiatives.
  • Identify risks and opportunities within the market and communicate possible impacts to the business.
  • Complete special projects, presentations and ad hoc reports to support senior management decision making.
Strategic Planning:
  • Support and facilitate the digital transformation of Bell Media\xe2\x80\x99s distribution strategy for video products by owning the business cases and financial analysis for new projects to grow our business. In 2023, Bell Media launched several new initiatives including TSN+ and ad supported Crave tiers, and we have many more exciting projects in our pipeline.
  • Liaison with stakeholders in various departments such as finance, programming, product, ad sales, marketing, and Bell consumer to ensure new initiatives are assessed holistically and represent the optimal path forward for Bell.
  • Create presentation materials that clearly and effectively equip Bell Media\xe2\x80\x99s leadership team to drive internal change at the highest levels of our organization.
Industry Intelligence and Research
  • Develop market expertise through continuous focus on and knowledge of the competitive and market environment. Maintain up to date understanding of distribution platforms and developments in technology, changes in the regulatory environment, industry news and events.
  • Monitor the content distribution market including distributors\xe2\x80\x99 products and service offerings.
Critical Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Business or Finance
  • Superior analytical skills combined with the ability to construct/deconstruct complex financial proposals.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office software applications, advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking
  • A deep passion for all things TV and Media, with a strong desire to build a long-term career in the space
  • Media and/or telecommunications industry experience in a business strategy role is an asset
